One of the items I wanted to get for Zoe’s room way before she was even born was a Cocoon Couture beanbag chair. I love the vintage prints that they choose to make the animals. I was torn between the bunny, the bird, and the giraffe but finally decided that I loved the giraffe the best.
So if you go to the Cocoon Couture website you can’t exactly order from there and have to order from one of their vendors. I ordered from Cute-ture. They didn’t have the giraffe bean bag chair listed so I called them and they found some in their stock room. I spoke to a Joey Vieira there. Omigod can I just tell you how helpful he was? He went to check their stock room and called me back the next day. He kept me posted on my ups shipping.
I received 2 packages. One with the beanbag chair cover and the interior cover and another box filled with the foam. I opened the box with foam and freaked. Am I supposed to put the entire bag in the interior cover or am I supposed to pour the foam in? PLEASE GOD SOMEONE TELL ME I JUST NEED TO SHOVE THE ENTIRE PLASTIC BAG OF FOAM IN! So I called Joey and told him I got the box of foam and what I should do with it and he started to laugh at me. You guys have to understand they are super-duper-itty-bitty-teeny-tiny pieces of foam. The kind where if you even move your finger toward it they fly. I remember seeing the bag of foam for the first time and thinking “OH HELLS NO!” He gave me tips and told me to do it in the garage and to have a vacuum cleaner handy and to do it over the box that it came in.
I mean the foam was sooo light they were flying everywhere so you had to be really cautious and pour it carefully into the cover. After one hour I finally finished and the remaining pieces I fed to my dustbuster.
We are definitely satisfied customers.

Roseola
Have you guys every heard of Roseola or has your child had it?
My gf’s son had it at around 8 months.
He got a fever of 103.5 for 5 days and then he broke out in a rash (non-itchy) on his body and then he was fine. I would freak the eff out if this happened to Zoe. Supposedly it’s very common.
So I was at her son’s 1st birthday this past saturday and our other friend , Alexis, came childless and husbandless. Her son is 8 months old. When we asked her where they were she said that her baby was home with a weird fever and that it’s been a couple of days already. So then it was brought up that it could be Roseola.
Has anyone gone through this yet with their baby?
I’m glad I know about this ahead of time just in case it happens to Zoeski. -
Getting Ready For the Cold
So winter is a comin’ and it’s brrrrrrrrrr friggin cold already.
So the hubs has been trying this new technique called whateverfloorzoeisonisthefloortheheatwillbeon. So what would any smart mother do? STICK TO HER BABY! Then I’m all kinds of warm!
:: Sleep Sacks ::
At night though, even though we have the thermostat to like 72 it can still get a lil cool. So the biggest argument between the hubs and I is the ever so popular she’s-too-hot-she’s-too cold argument. My sister-in-law gave me a hand-me-down sleepsack and I love it. I think it’s greatest thing since sliced bread.
I’m too scared to put a blanket on her cause sometimes she gets stuck in the corner and can’t turn so she’ll wake up crying. What if she gets stuck in the corner with the blanket on her face and she can’t breathe? This one time I left this long sleeved footsie hanging off the end of her bed and I put her down to sleep. When I went back to check on her an hour later it was wrapped around her neck. Like literally wrapped around and it was pretty snug too and the lil booger was still sleeping away. The only thing we put in her bed is Mr Elephant. I mean, that’s like her homie and they like to hang out in her crib and just share a nice warm bottle of Similac. I hear him say “Zoe, sip sip pass, sip sip pass.” Formulaholics. Mr Elephant does a good job in helping her go to sleep so we let him stay with her.
:: Leg Warmers ::
I also HAAAATE it when I’m holding Zoe and her pant leg rises so you see her cankles. Especially when we’re outside! So a friend of mine told me about baby leggings. Hello? Genius! A good site to go to is BabySnazz. I’m MOST DEFINTELY getting Zoe the pink skullz and I think I’m going to buy my nephew Ellis the black skullz so they can look matchy matchy when they meet. They make patterns that boys can wear too.
I love the idea of baby knee socks but slim pickings in that department on the web!
:: Winter Jacket for Zoe ::
I recently got this for Zoe at BabyGap and I love it. It’s called a bundler. It converts into legs if you adjust the snaps which is great for when I put her in her car seat. When I put her in this and leave her lying on the floor, she can flip from her back to her belly but then she can’t flip back and just lies there…and I just sit there and laugh at her.
I know. Mommy’s mean. -
She Does Too!
First of all let me say “Happy 7 months my fuzzy haired baby! Mommy loves you!”
I get ALOT of comments on Zoe’s hair.
It’s in that in between stage where it’s long but not long enough for me to do something with it. So I just let it be in all it’s electric shocked glory.About a month ago I saw her scalp in broad day light and noticed she still had some cradle cap so every time I’d bathe her, I’d massage her scalp with baby oil and then wash it with baby shampoo. Because of the baby oil there was some mane control and now that the cradle cap is gone and I no longer need the oil it’s just outta control. The only other way I can keep it down is if she wears a cap but since she’s like a lil incubator I only do that if it’s a lil chilly.
So thursday morning the hubs was bent over her on the bed to kiss her goodbye and I turn around from brushing my teeth and all I see is him hovering over this fro of hair and I say,
“Earlier this week I was researching who’s hair hers most resembled and I found it!”
“Who?”
Oh C’MON! It does too! No?
Ok does this help?

I Love My Beaba
Note: For those of you interested in the baby cubes I got mine at BuyBuyBaby but you can order them on Amazon here. I recommend ordering at least 2. I ordered one and then ended up sending the hubs back to the store for another. If you’re taking the pureeing route once you puree you have to completely let food cool down before you throw it in the freezer. So I do all of it at night and in the morning I pop them out of the cubes and throw them in freezer bags that I label with the food and date. If you take out one of your frozen cubes to feed the baby you have to reheat it till it’s piping hot and then let it cool down before you feed. This way it’ll kill any bacteria that might be in the food. If you don’t want to spend money on these then ice cube trays will also works. I just love these because I can use them to pack her food for school.
Oh also I don’t like reheating her food in the microwave and I know that’s what they do in school so I pop them in the beaba before I take them to school.
Hi. My name is Zoe’s Mommy and I’m addicted to pureeing. I’m being dead serious.
The hubs recently got this at Williams Sonoma and I lubeetlubeetlubeet!
You can cook, puree, and defrost your food all with one machine! They also recently started selling this at Giggle.
I’ve also been checking out some books on pureeing. Annabel Karmel seems to be a popular writer on children’s nutrition and she has a couple of books out on baby purees.
If you’re not a mommy and you’re on the way to being one mommy guilt makes you feel like crap. And since I didn’t breastfeed her her entire first year I’ve been plagued with guilt. But it’s hard! If you even miss ONE feeding your supply decreases so much. And not only that but your tata’s get sore. So I promised myself that once she started eating solids that I would puree her food for her and honestly, I love it. I love that she enjoys the foods I make. So far I’ve made potatoes, apples, pears, bananas, butternut squash, carrots, and peaches. I still have a canteloupe and some broccoli waiting for me to puree their asses.
So far Zoe doesn’t like apples and potatoes. So I mix the apple with a banana and the potato with carrots and it’s fine. But when she doesn’t like something she shivers and then when I try to give her another spoonful she holds up her hand to block the spoon like she’s some sort of karate master and then looks up at me with her hand on the spoon as if to say ”IF YOU PUT THAT NASTY SHIT IN MY MOUTH I’M GONNA DO SOMETHING YOU REGRET MOMMY.” You ain’t in UFC lil girl! Don’t threaten me!
:: 10.7.08 :: Apples ::
Hated it (I used red delicious). I feared for my life. I thought she was ready to bitch slap me here.
:: 10.10.08 :: Bananas
She loved this!
:: 10.11.08 :: Apples + Bananas
She didn’t mind the apples if you mixed it with the bananas.
::10.13.08:: Bananas + Rice Cereal
She didn’t like the chunky texture cause I didn’t puree it enough but she still finished it.
::10.13.08:: Potato + Butternut Squash
She doesn’t like potato by itself but she likes it with the squash.
::10.14.08:: Butternut Squash
This was what I packed her for school:
On Wednesday On Thursday
And this is all the stuff I’ve pureed over the weekend:
I told you love pureeing. -

I found these on the All Poster website and thought they looked so cute! Someone should get one!
Zoe already has too much in her room.
Ok maybe I’ll get some of the animals. They’re way too cute to pass up. Ok maybe the hippo, rabbit, zebra, and pig to be exact.
