Zoe’s Sick
Words I never thought I’d hear come out of the hubs’ mouth: “Hun, she was grabbing my nipple and then she tried to bite it!”
It’s 1:45am and I’m not tired. I took like an hour nap next to Zoe who kept waking up and after she finally stayed down I was awake-awake. Don’t you hate that?
So this week I took off from work. I have been busy. Zoe’s had an awful cold for the past 2 weeks. I think she got one, it was about to go away, and then she ended up getting another one. This one comes with a bad cough. So because she’s been sick she’s been co-sleeping with us. There was a point in the beginning of her cold where she was waking up at like 3am so we were like eff it. Why walk all the way to her room and bring her into bed with us at 3am when we can just sleep with her and have her wake us up at 3 without physically getting up? Ya know? And I know we really shouldn’t but honestly, what’s the harm besides having to ween them off of the habit later? Last night however I’m so glad we did. We put her down at around 8:30ish and I went to sleep next to her. At around 10 she started having this coughing fit while sleeping. She was laying on her back and she started to throw up her formula and it was just spewing all over her hair and face and it was pooling at her mouth so I bolted out of bed and turned her on her side. Then she started rubbing her face and I’m like GREAAAAAAAAAAAAT. Now it’s really getting everywhere. So we gave her a bath and I gave her a bottle of water afterwards so that she could just clean out her mouth. She was in a really good mood despite the horrific ordeal which is now embedded in her mommy’s mind FOR-E-VER. To see your lil one go through that… Now the hubs thinks I’m a paranoid freak. Whenever she’d take a nap today and if I heard her cough I’d tell him to go check on her or I’ll bolt up the stairs. Had she been sleeping in her own crib, honestly, I don’t think we would have known.
On top of Hog being sick I’ve been working on some “Susan” projects at home.
Painting the foyer (I started this yesterday)
I originally wanted to go with a beige but I definitely love this rich brown color more. Hopefully this will be completed by tomorrow.
Framing Bathroom Art (Photos that I took at the Brooklyn Botanical Garden w/ Bee last yr)
Family Photo Wall (I still have 2 more frames to do)
Office Bulletin Board
I was going to post videos of Zoe but it’s not working. So more on that next time. Need to make my Thanksgiving shopping list! -
8 Month Update
I have been so busy and since I haven’t written in a long time I have SO MUCH to write about.
So the mommy meet up was last sunday and I have no photos to show for it. BOO! So nice to meet everyone finally. Although there were some moms I didn’t even get to talk to. I think the downside is that since there’s so many kids and so many of us it’s hard to get to know each other or even just have one really good conversation. Do you know what I mean?
Zoe. *sigh* She’s growing up so fast. She turned 8 months this past wednesday. So like I said, I have so much to write about.
:: She started crawling.
:: She’s also eating gerber puffs now. She can pick them up however she doesn’t know how to put it in her mouth. She’ll stick her head fwd with her mouth open like a baby bird so you can deposit her treat where it belongs. Lazy.
:: She also started eating yogurt yesterday and she LOVES it. Her eyes never left the spoon.
:: She can also sit up on her own now from lying to sitting position.
:: Just this past week, if you watch her and help her out a lil, she’ll try to stand while holding onto something.
:: Her stranger anxiety is at it’s all time worse. Even if I’m standing behind her she’ll look up and start crying so I have to bend down and huddle next to her so she can hug me in between playing with her toys. It’s cute but annoying at the same time.
:: She loves bath time. Whenever we take her out she starts to cry. Hahaha…
:: She’s also been waking up in the middle of the night so we’ve been co-sleeping with her the past week. I think she’s teething again even though she’s not drooling.
She’s also been sick. She’s had a really bad cough for almost 2 weeks now. I took her into the dr’s on thursday and he checked her lungs and everything and he said she was fine and that it was just a cold and that we have to just wait it out. *sigh* I hate that. The stupid waiting game. Everytime she coughs it hurts me. Ya know? So this past week we’ve also had some visitors. One visitor in particular that we’ve been waiting FOREVER to meet…Cousin Ellis!
They stayed over wed night till this morning. Here’s Ellis’ big sister, Josie playing with some finger puppets.

My Weekend w/ the Lil One.
Ahnyoung! Moshi moshi!
What a great weekend, minus Zoe’s cough. It was Zoe and Mommy weekend starting friday evening.
I did some pureeing this weekend (butternut squash / broccoli). Nobody told me that after your baby eats broccoli that their poopy will smell really foul! Thanks for the heads up you bitches.
Playdate was fun. The moms were were speed eating and taking turns. Christian likes to hit people so Shawnie (his mom) is trying to teach him to be “gentle”. She always says “Gentle, gentle…” I always throw in a “Nice, nice” Borat style of course. So while she’s eating her jja jja myun, she’s also talking on the phone. I am sitting on the floor with holding Zoe with one arm while she’s playing and I have my other hand behind Christian so he won’t topple over while he’s trying to climb up me. So he starts smiling at me and I start smiling at him and then *WACK*. He hits me on my face so I go “Gentle, gentle, be nice…” *WACK* mind you he’s still smiling and I’m like “Christian gentle, gentle, nice, nice… Shawnie! Christian’s beating the crap outta my face! Gentle Christian! Gentle!” *WACK* SHE, is on the phone, watching this and LAUGHING at me and goes “That is his gentle!” WHAT da?! “GENTLE GENTLE NICE NICE CHRISTIAN!!! GENTLE GENTLE…” *WACK* EENOMOSHECKI!!! You’re cuteness is saving you.
Zoe’s had a bad cough all weekend but mostly while she’s sleeping and it sounds like it hurts. So saturday night I let her sleep with me. I think she was soooo worn out from her playdate she slept from 8pm to 7am. The longest in Zoe’s sleep history! However, she slept so long that her pee leaked. Ok I don’t know if this is all mommies but I’m so sick of doing laundry. So if a lil pee leaks on our sheets I think more like “Hmmm, so what’s a lil pee for another 2 weeks? I mean it’s just dry pee…on the bedsheet…right by my face.” Right? So because she peed, and because my shower assistant was not here, I decided to give her a bath in the tub with mommy. Omigod she loved it. As much as I love putting her in the shower with me while sitting on the bathmat I think this kid has been missing out on some splashtastic fun. You can tell she’s so into the cause and effect stage. There’s a pause after each splash cause I think she’s still trying to figure out what’s going on after each splash. And she sits there and plays with her lil bath toys and whenever one floats by she drops the one that’s in her mouth (of course) and picks that one up. We texted some videos to the hubs who was missing us. Afterwards we got dressed for church and the evening after a nap we waited for her daddy to come home. She got so excited seeing him she started hopping up and down while I was supporting her to stand. What a great welcome home.

Bath Time!

Going to church as a girly badass. Polka dots with skulls!

Her she is playing with her jumperoo. But then she toppled over and tried to get back up but instead she kept going backwards. And then she realized she wasn’t anywhere near the jumperoo and started to cry.

Omigod. I saw this on a few of your pages but YouTube is blocked at work so I had to wait till I got home to see this.
I cried.
I watched this video with Zoe and I just held her and cried.
