Father’s day is coming up and I have no idea what to get the hubs. Do you guys know what you’re giving your baby’s daddy?
On another note I just ended up paying $130 ticket for talking on the cell while driving. BOO!

So every weekend we try to have family time. I love it cause it’s just nice spending quality time with the 3 of us. So a few weeks ago we spent some time walking around dowtown Englewood (NJ).

So this isn’t baby related but I thought I’d share this since I just tested it out and LUHBEET! For you ocd freak of natures *SOOAE* this mop is amazing. It just glides and it’s sooo easy to use and when you’re done you just pop the microfiber cloth off and throw it in the wash. I have the Swiffer Wet Jet and honestly I think it sucks ass. Like S.U.C.K.S  A.S.S. Like as in S.U.C.K.S  A.S.S. Do you see what I’m trying to tell you? This, however, is amazing. I went over my gf’s house for a playdate and she raved about this and had me test it out on her floor. I was sold. Sooae, my dear…I know you like to kick it old school with a rag and getting down all fours but trust me on this. Your ocd ass will LOVE it. I got it for like $13 or $14 at Target. And there are lots of microfiber mops out but this one is like awesomest of the awesomes and I don’t talk about cleaning supplies unless I’m SUPER impressed which is like never.

I’m trying to add books to my wishlist I’ve created for Zoe’s library and there’s one book I can’t find.

I remember in elementary school there was a book that I read in the library. The illustrations started off in black and white and it was about a town with no color and a man came to that town and he brought paint. So he painted his house red and everyone else in the town wanted him to paint the town red but then red made their mood angry so then he painted his house yellow and then everyone in the town wanted him to paint everything yellow but then yellow made them moody and so on. I think one day he started mixing the colors together to get different colors other than the primary ones and pretty soon the town was all sorts of different colors.

Does this sound familiar to anyone?!

Miss Doya did this a while back and I’ve been meaning to do this after I found the right photos.
So to all the people who said “She looks just like Andy (or C)” you’re all chocolate covered A-Holes with sprinkles. Cuz I look at this and I think she looks 95% more like me than him. Am I blind?
 
I’m not in denial. She has his lips, I’ll give him that but for the most part I think she looks like me.
Also I am very well aware that as babies we both very much needed a haircut. Me with my fro and the hubs with his Neil Diamond hair. He be coming to America many years later. I also noticed that the crib I was in had no bumper. OhmAH! Did you not care about me!?

Word of Mouth
I rely more on word of mouth from people I know than reviews online. That’s why I post my thoughts on stuff I buy for Zoe. I think toy reviews don’t really help all that much. One kid may like it, another may not. Ya know? It just comes down to your kid’s preference. For example, we had a jack-in-the-box cow that was a hand me down. The day we got it the knob on the handle broke off and the music completely stopped even if you were turning the knobless crank. Which therefore meant the stupid cow never popped out unless you manually opened it yourself. Zoe however loved this stupid box and carried it with her back and forth between the living room and the kitchen. She’ll just plop down and examine this worthless piece of crapiola for God knows how long. I buy her this brand new jack-in-the-box rabbit who’s lookin all cute and is EVEN holding a carrot and she hardly touches it. WHAT DA EFF ZOE!? WHAT YOU DOIN YUJ?! How do I give something like this a review? It’s not the toy’s fault Zoe’s weird, ya know?

Sleep Routine
A lot of times people ask me about Zoe’s sleep routine. So Zoe for the most part (75%) has been not that bad in the sleeping department. She’s been sleeping ALL night since 6 weeks. Once the teething would kick in it would always mess up her schedule but nothing that we couldn’t fix. I can put her down for her morning and afternoon nap without a problem. No tears. I hold her lying down and say “One” and then I swing her face into her mobile. Then I say “Two” and while I’m still holding her she pushes the button on her little crib toy for the music to start and then at “Three” I lay her down and automatically she turns to her left to hold Mr Pink + Mr Blue. This is our routine that I have perfected and she knows what’s to come when I start counting to three. Night time however is a different story. So during the day she naps from 10-12:30 (used to be 10-12) and from 3-5. She’s a big time napper. In the evening we put her down in our bed with her last bottle and when she would finish we’d carry her to her crib and do my 1-2-3 routine and put her down. For about the past month however she’d cry. So we put her to sleep in our bed and once she’s out we’d carry her over to her crib but then she’d wake up at like at 1 or 2 for us to come and get her. We’d bring her over to our bed and she’d just play for 2 hours! So now we give her her last bottle and then put her to sleep in our bed. 99% of the time she’d sleep straight through from 10-7:30. I can’t sleep well because she’d push up against me and by the time the alarm goes off I’m on the edge of the bed. Like if she just nudged me I’d fall off. Zoe you friggin bed hog! *sigh* So I don’t know what to do. This week she’d pass out after her last bottle and then we’d lay down with her with the lights off to make her go to sleep and she’d just roll back and forth between us giving us rasberries on our legs or arms. She’s so funny. And then once she’d pass out the hubs would pick her up to take her to her crib but she would wake up and push him as if to say “Daddy, NO!” So what do we do? Maybe I need to come up with a special night routine or leave her lamp on till she passes out?

Oh and for the mama’s that were inquiring about the lunch bag. Here is the seller. Someone wrote they wanted the piggy but there is no piggy in the collection. I think your best bet may be to just set up a repeat search of any new items that come up under “pottery barn kids lunch bag”. The horse is pretty effin cute too. If the elephant was a different color I would have definitely chosen that instead.

Zoe is really rough on her Playtex sippy cups. She usually grabs it by the handle and just starts bashing it on the table during her meals like a cavebaby that they no longer become spill-proof because she cracks them. So I saw this while walking around the container store and she loves it. Like she LOVES this. So much so that she refuses the Playtex ones now. This can hold 8oz.

   

Hello Kitty Backpack / $19.50
So this little girl is into bags. *sigh* I cannot stop it. She’s definitely girly. CURSES! I can handle Hello Kitty but if she goes into the whole princess stage I’m going to kill myself. So after we didn’t get her the Dora backpack I got her this little one and I fill it with her juicebox and and a container of snacks whenever we go out. I call it her “snack pack”. I’m clever I know. 


Fisher-Price Soft Travel Tray (Precious Planet Collection) / $19.99
I know I’m not the only mommy who goes through this. I give her a lil container of snacks while she’s in her carseat. When I go to take her out however many minutes later I see all of her snacks on the bottom of her seat. I HATE THIS. It’s a waste and it’s messy. So having to drive an hour and 45 minutes back from my mother’s house alone with Zoe I didn’t want to have a snack melt down so I stopped by Wal-mart just to look around and voila! I love this! It’s soft so it’s safe in case there is a car accident, it’s easy to clean cause it’s vinyl, and it has side walls so it keeps stuff from falling off. I LOVEEEEEEEEEEEE this. Plus the bonus part is that it matches with her neck pillow.


Cow Lunch Bag + Bento Box (Bag bought on Ebay + Box bought in a Korean shop)
I have been looking for this lunch bag FOREVER! And when I say forever I mean since last November. So it’s pretty small but Ir can hold your basics. And I love the little bento boxes to hold her snacks and her lunch/dinner when we have to go out.





New Hand-me Down Toys (Thanks Cousins!)

Mr Pink + Mr Blue had some minor surgery this weekend.
          
          

Mr. Blue also got a new tail.
          
 

Somebody else got a much needed makeover too. She rooks “oriental”.



I went down to my mother’s house in PA for a week with Zoe and got her hair cut down there. It’s cheaper down there. I paid $19. Here it would have been $28. Her father does not like the cut. Hahaha… He goes “She left as Zoe and came back a Joey.” And then proceeds to dance while he sings the song by Joy, “Chinese girls make me wonder. You are my Chinese girl I need you so…” Where’s the love?

My mother used to cut our hair like this and we HATED it! The lady asked me “Do you want to give her bangs?” MuhaHAHAHAHA! “Sure!” I figure do it now before she actually has an opinion about it later. When my mom used to do it we’d start crying after she was done and just sob and say “I look like a Chinese girl!!!!”

It did not go down very well in the beginning. She didn’t want to sit by herself but the woman gave her a lollipop and she was busy licking away. Then all hell broke loose when she turned on the hair dryer.
 
           
          


And they gave us a certificate with a photo and a lock of hair to remember this beautiful moment.
