  • Bye-Bye’s, Bubbles, Burgers, Barbeques, Birds and an Elephant

Last weekend was a long ass weekend.

    :: 07.12.09 :: Goodbye’s + Burgers
So my sister and her bf took off on Sunday to go down to PA. Even though it was a very short visit it was really nice to
see my sister and to meet her bf finally who we really, really liked a lot. I hope they end up together. Wedding in
    Vietnam perhaps? WOOHOO!

So here we are saying our farewells. Zoe is smiling on command in these photos. Kimosabe I have taught you well. She’s
kinda half-assin’ it. When she does it right her eyes disappear.

I love this one. It says to me “Oh you best be smilin’ Uncle Matthew!”

For dinner we hit up Bobby’s Burger Palace at Bergen Mall. This is Bobby Flay’s new burger joint. I thought it was good. I
got my burger ‘crunchified’ (meaning they put potato chips in it). Bobby please. I came up with this shit when I was a kid.
I put chips in my sandwiches so don’t try to front like you invented it. We got Zoe a kids meal. She is anti burger. *sigh*. She,
however, loved my pickle. She SOO has my taste buds. She also has this need to yell out “HI” to everyone and their mother
whenever we go out. Hahaha…. Zoe you don’t have to be friends with EVERYONE!

    :: 07.11.09 :: Our Barbeque + Bubbles
We had a barbeque and invited friends over on saturday. This is where round 2 of the Justin vs. Zoe match took place  in
the octagon er I mean on the deck. Sorry I have UFC on the brain. Zoe is fine. Kids are kids ya know? This is that stage
where we have to teach them what’s right and what’s wrong for the next 20 years. Yay!  Hae Kyung don’t worry. Zoe will
get him with her perfect snowballs this winter. BOY BETTA WATCH OUT! Hahaha. I have no photos from our barbecue but I
do have photos of Zoe playing with bubbles w/ Aunt Angie once a lot of our guests have left.

  • Stuff In The Magazines + The Great Outdoors

So I’ll see stuff in magazines that I want to write about on my blog and so I’ll rip out the pages and never write about
them. However my mess is piling and so I shall share my findings.

Alchemy on Etsy :: This is sooo cool. Basically if you want something made you can post your project request here with a
price and deadline and then all the artists on the site will send you their bids and you pick who you want to get the work
    done.
Stray Notions :: The home editor at Cookie wanted to turn an old drawing that she had drawn as young girl into a gift for
her mother. Sharon at Stray Notions hand embrodiered the exact drawing onto a tote by hand. The cost? $40
    STRAYNOTIONS-1

    Great DIY Project ::
Sara Hicks wanted a book for her baby to show things that the baby could id so she went ahead and
created her own book using her own photos and scrabble pieces. Hello? Genius!

    STRAYNOTIONS-2

    Great DIY Project ::
Rebecca Rather found an old panneled window frame, screwed it onto a wooden board and then
spray painted it with chalkboard paint to use it as a calendar to keep up with all the family activites. I love mommy
    geniuses.

the region or zip code into the search box. You can also contribute info about your local kid hangouts.

WeeKnit :: Ok you know I’m a sucker for finger puppets. I have no idea why but I just love them. Here’s someone on Etsy
that knits really cute ones. You can even get sets of 5 for $10!

    backyardmovie
Lately I’ve been really getting into the idea of doing anything outdoors. I think it’s cause we just furnished our deck and
finally made use of the grill. Anyhoots, I’ve been really into the idea of pitching up a tent and throwing a backyard movie.
I think Zoe’s still too young so maybe next summer but wouldn’t that be fun?! I need to research projectors till then. It’s also
    a great slumber party idea!

Ohdeedoh:: They just did a entry on this as well recently. Great minds think alike.
Backyard Theater :: This site basically shows you what you need in order to throw a successful outdoor movie.
Backyard Campout :: Apparently the Great American Backyard Campout was on June 27th but it’s never too late to camp
out back! If you want to camp in your backyard here’s a site that gives you more ideas.
Shadow-Puppets :: Shows you how to make shadow animals with your hands. This is a lil dorky….I must learn.

I’m also really thinking about making a playhouse. I would build a treehouse however we are treeless. So playhouse it is. I
stumbled upon this in my research and if I had the money I’d SOOOO get this for her instead of making one.
    modernplayshed

I love that it looks so boxy. I also found another playhouse in Cookie that a family built for their kids. I love the retro play
kitchen they put in it. Man, the more I think about it the more I realize I’m a big kid. I’d SOOO play in this while Zoe’s taking
    her naps
    with her.

  • I’m Losing My Mind

So when we bought the Hello Kitty shirt we also bought 2 pairs of summer pj’s for Zoe at The Gap. Even though it’s hot
during the day the evening have been cool so far. So tonight she wanted me to put the blue ones on her. So I just got
done putting the shirt on and next thing you know she blows up at me and is bawling and I FRIGGIN DON”T KNOW WHAT
THE HELL SHE WANTS! It’s sooo frustrating. So all I know is that it has something to do with the shirt. She insisted that I put it
on her. So I fold the sleeves 3 times. She’s quiet when I do it but then after the third fold she’s mad as hell. *sigh* So then I
fold the other sleeve 3 times. Then she’s still mad. I get frustrated and start taking it off but she’s fighting me to keep it on.
WHAT WHAT WHAT ZOE!!!??? So I fold the sleeves all the way to her biceps and she stops crying. WAS THAT ALL YOU
WANTED?! This fight lasted like 10 minutes.

Then she gets mad and is pointing at the door. So I go to the door. She starts pointing at the hallway. So I go and stand
in the middle of it. Nothing. So I go back to the room and she starts bawling. She doesn’t want me to put her down and
is pointing at the door again. So I go back out to the hallway. I go to her grandmother’s room. She doesn’t want to go
to her. I head back to my room and pass the stairs and she starts crying and pointing at the stairs. I go down. She points
at the living room. I go to the living room. She points at the Mario Partty Game cover. I give it to her. She stops crying.

OH MY EFFIN WORD!!! WHEN THE HELL IS THIS SHIT GOING TO END?!?
It’s sooo frustrating. I feel like I’m going to lose my shit.

  • Hello _itty

So I’ve been trying to teach Zoe how to say “Kitty” when she sees Hello Kitty or a cat. However she’s been saying “titty”.
I know! I know! I’m trying to fix it. We’re working on the K’s ok!? It’s a work in progress… Omigod. Can you imagine us at the
zoo and Zoe pointing at a lion yelling “UMMA TITTY! UMMA TITTY! BEEG TITTY TAT!” All the mommies that will be shooting me
dirty looks while covering their children’s ears!” I think I’ll just burst out laughing. I mean, how can you not?

Now that I know that Zoe loves Hello Kitty I’ve been doing some research on her. Did you know that Hello Kitty has a
boyfriend? His name is Dear Daniel. I think it’s a lil cute actually. Did you also notice that her nose is yellow? I never noticed it
    till today.

    Oh. My. God.
So anyways on Sunday we hit up Elizabeth Mall and when we went to H+M we saw a Hello Kitty t-shirt in Zoe’s size so her
daddy bought it for her. I washed it and she wore it for the first time today. Every now and then I would see her catching
her reflection in the fireplace and just smiling at her shirt and all day it was “titty” or “Umma, umma…titty.” Anyways I just
took her upstair to get her ready for bed and I changed her shirt and she had a shit fit. *sigh* And I knew why. I went
downstairs to get my video camera so I could share this beautiful moment with you. It’s not really beautiful. I’m just being
    sarcastic.

You know when we go downstairs to head out she picks her own shoes now from her shoe pot? *sigh* It’s like full on
girl-mode from this point on. I can’t stop it. I have to just accept it. MAN! I really wanted a tomboy. I can see it now. She’s
going to be sitting on the floor playing with a barbie doll all happy-happy-joy-joy and then you’ll see me just breezily
walking by and placing a bucket of dirt and a Tonka truck in front of her and just continue on my way.

Just embrace it Susan. It’ll be ok. It’ll be ok.

  • My Morning….So Far.

By 7:30 this morning girlfriend already had her milk, her breakfast, a bath, 30 minutes of Lazytown on tv, and was down for
her nap. I’m awsome. What the hell was she thinking getting up at 5:30? I’ll write more later today if I have time.

  • Do You Kaboodle?

So my cell phone has been buggin out lately. Just cause a lil bit of milk got in it it’s like on some sort of calcium
overload or something. It keeps flashing when I’m not touching it and when I open it it all of a sudden starts
dialing random numbers on the screen. So annoying. QUIT IT! Driving me nuts.

Also we had 2 measuring tapes(we had these forever) and in a span of 2 weeks they both broke. One because
Zoe kept playing with one and the other cause I dropped it today. I have to buy one. I always carried the one
that Zoe broke in my purse. Just in case. You never know what you have to measure! I need to go out and buy
one tomorrow. It’s driving me nutz knowing I don’t have one anymore.

Anyways I wanted to write about this for a while. Have you guys ever heard of Kaboodle? Well I friggin love it.
    I have a few lists:

    wishlist

It’s a site where you can create a wish list and add anything from any site onto one major list. You basically load the
software onto your computer and anytime you see something on any site and want to save it to your wish list you
just hit the add to kaboodle button on your toolbar. I love it. Like LUUUB eet! Plus it’s free! If you create a wishlist add
me as a friend. I’m susanjane. We can be prends…or chingoos…por rife…pohebah (that’s ‘forever’ in my bad Korean
accent). Plus if you see stuff on other people wishlists that you like you can add it to your own as well. Like I said, I
    LUUUB eet.

Here’s some things off of Zoe’s wishlist that I’ve added over the year. Now that I’m looking at it like this…I think I have
really good taste If I do say so myself. And for this I must saying “Sujan you is the awsome.”
              zoeswishlist

Oh and if anyone is wondering what the 2nd to the last item is that looks like a pair of tongs, it’s a snowball scooper
to make perfectly even snowballs. Yes, Zoe is too young to use it. It’s for me bitches. And I will teach Zoe thy ways…
which is to show no mercy to the neighborhood children. If they hit you, turn the other cheek. BULLSHIT! Kick em in the
balls! Even if they don’t have any! We’re going to build the awsomest snow fort and have perfect snowballs. JUSTIN,
BRING IT YOU LITTLE KOCHI TOUCHING, NANINGOO (once again pardon my bad Korean. I’m trying to say undershirt.
Nancy stop laughing at my Korean you bitch) WEARING GANGPEH YOU! It’s on till the break of dawn! We call you out this
    December. Be ready Freddy! Muhahaha!

I swear I’m a big kid. When we went over the Chae’s house to play the girls were playing at the activity table with sand
and I was helping them but one by one they all left till it was just me and Zoe. And then Zoe left. And then Nancy said “Ok
Susan, you can stop pretending that you’re helping the kids.”  What the HELL kinda BULLSHIT is that?!!!

Ok. It’s true. I didn’t care about the children. I wanted my own wet sand to build my own fuckin sand castle. And they all
left. I was so happiness and so exciting. I play and I build. I cry. Happy cry.

  • My American Idol, Funny Family Story, + Pics of Zoe

Yesterday I vacuumed, mopped, did the dishes, and put Zoe down. Afterwards I was listening to Maxwell while
adding stuff onto my wish lists. I tell you: I’m feelin the Maxwell. The hubs however H.A.T.E.S. him. Whatever.
Jealousy. Just cuz he can sing higher notes than you and has a body like plaDOW to go with it, don’t hate.  And my
husband can hit the high notes…just not as well as he thinks he can. I mean it’s like I think he cut off his scrotum sacs
because it’s so deafning at times. He honestly believes that he can go on American Idol and make it to Hollywood.
I support you like a double D bra babe. I just really think you should tape and hear yourself singing first before you
make the decision. Plus, you too O.L.D. As in:

    O ldddddddddd
    L  oser you’re old
    D amn you’re old

I love you. You’re an American Idol in my book. I mean who else does the running man to the Pororo theme song?

On a different note, I think my family is pretty funny. The older sister just laughs at the rest of us cause we’re retarded.
She’s probably secrety writing a book at how retarded her sisters are but I think Vietnam sister has already started
that. Speaking of funny, the Vietnam sister (which in ranking is sister number 3. I’m 2.) is coming to visit tomorrow.
She’s funny. She’s the one that was reading Zoe the US Magazine article about Heidi and Spencer. She told me this
story about how there was a mouse in her apartment and she tried to jump on furniture to get away from it but
instead she rammed into her furniture. I laughed just thinking about it just now. She makes funny requests sometimes
since she’s overseas. Like this one: She’ll email me photos, tell me what to write on them, asks me to frame them, and
then give it to my mother. I forgot to give it to my dear mother for mother’s day so she’s going have to deliver this
crap herself when she sees her. I’m sure mom will be thrilled.
    IMG_3374
To deprive my mother of this gift all these months…I’m so ashamed.

  • Random Photos from May

Zoe was never much of a drooler but lately she’s been drooling off and on. Her molars are finally out. Welcome
teeth! She also got her MMR last week. She hates her doctor. Hahaha. The second she sees him she just bursts into
tears now. Her weight is in the 5th percentile. I know. She’s a lil thing. And her head is 75th percentile. Hahaha…. I’ve
been trying to fatten her up but the hubs thinks that she took on my genes in the weight department.

    Nancy, this one’s for you.

    :: 06.12.09 :: Playdate w/ Maddie, Olivia, & their cousins
So we went over for a playdate and there was this lil bird that had gotten hurt somehow and was on their yard and
it couldn’t fly but it was such a big deal to the little ones and some of the girls were scared. It ended up dying. Nancy
    hates birds. Chicken.

  • 4th of July

Note: For those of you asking me about the Hello Kitty Beach Play Set that Zoe’s playing with you can get it here.

I hope everyone had a great 4th of July. I know we did. And happy birthday to my youngest sister and my sister-in-
law, both 4th of July birthdays!

    :: 07.04.09 :: Fire Island
Saturday we decided to head out to Fire Island. I loved it. I’m a total beach snob. I admit it. I’m really picky about
my beaches and this one was way nicer than I expected for an east coast beach. And what a small world. Tinnie it
was nice running into you and Theo there!
