Mommy + Baby Wash Mitts
A while back I was browsing around Whole Foods and I found these Mommy and me bath mitts. Zoe loves them. She puts hers on, I put on mine and she likes to kiss hers on the mouth or rather bill, and then she likes for the mommy duck to kiss the baby duck, and then she wants the mommy duck to kiss her, and she wants the baby duck to kiss me, and then she wants me to kiss the mommy duck. Everyone has to kiss each other at least one time basically. That’s a whole lotta kissin goin around but it’s ok cause she’s a smoocher. You tell her to kiss her toys she’ll do it the first time you ask. I have to beg her to kiss me. My wound is deep Zoe.
Summer Infant Finger Brush
What kid doesn’t do this but Zoe likes to test out her chompers when we brush her teeth. She thinks it’s funny when we yell out in pain. I don’t remember where I bought this but I love that it has a case and that it’s not a flimsy finger brush.
Sassy Fork + Spoon Travel Case
I love anything with a case. Anything that comes with a case to protect whatever it is I’m buying last longer, I’m sold.

First Family Vacation!
Operation Fatso was going soooooooo well. She started eating a lot right when I first started writing about Operation Fatso. However we hit a snafu. She’s been doing diarhea since saturday night and today she got diaper rash from it. *sigh* At least she can communicate it to me now. She grabbed her diaper and said “AIYA!” Which in Korean means “Ouch!” Poor thing. Hopefully everything will go away by tomorrow.
On a positive note, we have booked our vacation! We are going to Punta Cana a month from now. I cannot wait! We’re gonna be staying at Melia Caribe which is supposed to be a really good hotel for families.
So I’ve been getting stuff ready for our plane ride for Zoe. We have flown to Cali before together and even the flight going there was a lil hard, the flight back she was a gem. Like a diamond if I had to pick one. However she is older now and more restless so I just wanna be super prepared since it’s going to be a 4 hour flight. I do not want to experience a meltdown mid air. It might kick me into having one as well. Oh my poor husband.
So anyhoots I’ve been a little Hello Kittied out. Even so I can’t stop googling stuff. Did you know they’ve Hello Kittified everything? When I say everything I mean the universe. Like for example you can get a Hello Kitty muffler, toaster, toilet paper holder, ashtray, even pasta, etc. If you ever do a google search for something try looking it up under Hello Kitty and I shit you not, it will be there. There’s even a toilet and I just saw a pair of men’s hello kitty boxer briefs. Hello!? Ridiculous! (ordering them for the namps as I type (that’s short for nampyon (husband))). Omigod they even have Hello Kitty face masks! Like the ones you wear because you don’t want to get SARS or when you’re playing doctor.
I meant with the kids you pervs. Tsk tsk…dirty dirties….
I’ll post an entry of her goodies on a later post. -
Clumsy
Zoe is really clumsy. Especially when she’s running. At Sesame Place she tripped and skinned her left knee. Then yesterday after we met C at the bus stop she tripped again and skinned the same spot. I hate it. I hate seeing blood on her. It makes me cringe. I tell her to stop running but she won’t. She thinks she’s like Flash Gordon or something and when she trips and goes flying she seems more like Superman but not so super. And everytime I say “Don’t run! Don’t run!” I think she translates this to “Run faster! Run faster!” Oy vey.
She wouldn’t stay still when I was trying to get a shot of her knee but out of my 20 takes this was one of them:
So I’ve been pretty busy lately. Wedding last saturday. I had a bridal shower and a surprise birthday dinner to go to last saturday. This weekend we’re going up to MA to visit my sister and her family. Busy busy busy!

Finger Foods
littlemisstomato posted this a while back and I thought it was a good list to have for mommies who are starting off their babies on finger foods. Thanks Angela! I’m keeping a copy of this for baby number dos.

Changes
Zoe’s been going through something really funky. She’s been eating alot and growing alot. Well I don’t know about her height but her feet grew in a span of a month.
Appetite: She’s a piggy and I love it. When we went to Sesame Place there were a lot of kids like Zoe’s age that were obese. Like O B E S E! I couldn’t believe it. I mean I want Zoe to be a chunky monkey but not like that. So everyone always asks me after I post up photos of the stuff I feed Zoe if she eats it all. And the answer is no. Sometimes she takes a bite and turns her head away and says “No. Down.” and then points to the floor to tell me she wants to get down from her highchair and that she’s done eating. Lately she’s been finishing most of her meals which makes me super happy.I tried to ween her off her bottles (the converted Thinkbaby ones I wrote about before). I just started putting her milk in her sippy cup or her juice cup. She would take a few sips and NEVER finish. She was also still drinking her milk warm. So I put her back on the bottle but I no longer warmed them up for her. Now she’s drinking 6-8oz before she sleeps at night and then sometimes in the middle of the night she wakes up hungry so I’ll make sure before I go to bed that I leave an 8oz bottle on top of our headboard. By the morning it is gone. Sometimes she wakes up on her own, grabs it, drinks it, and then goes back to bed without me knowing. I love that. I’m not too worried that she’s still on the bottle just as long as she’s getting her milk. I’ll deal with that later on down the line. Her doctor told me she should be getting about 15-18oz a day still so I think we’re good. She’s still at 21lbs but she is getting that potbelly after each meal so I’ feel a little better knowing that she is full after each meal.
Feet: So when I bought her the pink crocs they were a size 4 and big for her. I measured her feet last week and 4.5″! That’s how they do it right? A size 4 means it’s 4 inches right? I don’t know these things cause we hardly buy her shoes since she has a lot of hand me downs but we have no size 5 hand me downs. How do you figure out the size? I know some places do it by months. Like Old Navy does 12-18m. But when it comes to the single digits I have no idea.
I also gots me a new toy. I got the Canon 50mm f1.4 lens. I like it. I don’t love it YET but I’m sure I’ll get there once we get to know each other better. It’s just weird. I’ve always used the lens that came with the camera and that’s been 2 years now. I feel like I’m cheating on my other lens or something.
Here are some practice shots.

:: 08.12.09 :: This morning I was folding the laundry while Zoe was walking around with my navy striped tank top on her head and she walks over to me and tilts her head to the side and just looks at my face. I can feel that she has a bit of a staring problem but since I’m folding I’m not even looking up. She then walks over to me and kisses me on the cheek and then runs off to to check out her reflection.
She’s may not be in my fan club anymore but I know she still loves me.

Sesame Place, Take Two
So this was our second attempt at going and it was a success. We knew it was going to be mid 90′s but we’re like eff it. Let’s just go. By the time we parked the car and got to the front entrance Zoe’s head was drenched in sweat and she had a heat rash all over her back. I’m telling you, she’s like this lil incubator.
Oh before we continue on please excuse the hub’s ugly farmer’s tan and my fugly back tan.
First thing we did was hit up Count’s Splash Castle. This was sooo well made I thought.
After we spent some time swimming we decided to watch Abby Cadabby’s Treasure Hunt show. Zoe was in awe. She started screeching “ELMO!” and “CuhKEY!” and “Aaa-B!” and then she couldn’t keep her eyes off of them.
We then hit up the Teeny Tiny Tidal Wave pool in Twiddlebug Land. She wanted to stay here forever.
I need to end my fan club now because it only has one member now…me. Zoe you traitor. I spit on Mr Pink! Pitooey! Let’s see who’s fan club you try to switch off to next time we go to the Sanrio store. Mmmhmm.
Here she took one with me out of pity but she was TRYING to go to her daddy and it was like “Ok umma. Let’s make this quick. UMMA I SAID QUICK!”
We only hit up those 3 places but I think it was enough for her. It was way too hot to be going all over the place. Who knows? Maybe we’ll be back next year.

Characters + Animals
Zoe’s learned a lot recently. Her vocabulary is growing. Just this morning I found that when she says “baba” that means she wants her Brown Bear book. She also knows a lot of characters. So I printed up a sheet of all the characters and animals she knows. Here’s a little video.
Mickey = Gokey
Pororo = Crong (He will always be Crong to her)
Abby = Ahbee
Cookie = Cahkee
Elmo = Elmo
Big Bird = Bih Bur
Hello Kitty = Titty
Dog = Mong mong
Cow = Moo
Dora = Dohda
Elephant = Mmmm (elephant noise) -
Recipe: Watermellon Popsicles
I made mine without chocolate chips. These are good frozen for about a week.
(Via Cookie Magazine)
Watermellon Popsicles
Mini chocolate chips act as sweet watermelon seeds in these fun treats. Remember to wait until the mixture is partially frozen to stir the chips in, so they don’t all collect at the bottom of the pops.
- 5 cups watermelon cubes
- 1/4 cup lemonade concentrate
8 tablespoons mini chocolate chips
In a blender or food processor, puree the watermelon cubes and lemonade concentrate until smooth. Pour the puree into 4 large Popsicle molds or 8-ounce plastic cups.
Freeze for 1 hour or until the mixture is slushy. Using a wooden Popsicle stick, stir about 2 tablespoons of chocolate chips into each pop. Insert the sticks, then freeze the pops for at least 6 hours or until they’re solid. -
Photos
Zoe’s passport finally came in. Now it’s time to plan for our first family vacation. Does anyone have any recommendations on things to do/play with to occupy your dhild on the plane? I’ve also been busy with my Blog Book. So far I only finished 16 pages. Man it is going to take me forever! I’m just gonna take my time with that one. Also her incisors are coming out. Her gums are swollen. I went to brush her teeth and I felt a huge bump. Poor thing. I’m sure it hurts but she’s been ok about them. So far she has 10 that are completely out. She’s also been on this pinching and hitting phase. *sigh* It’s lovely I tell you.
