  • Operation Fatso + More Hello Kitty Crap

    So I went over to my sister in law’s house a few days ago and she was feeding her daughters dinner. She had these plain cute pastel lunch trays with dividers. You know the ones that they used in school. I thought it was soo cute so I did a little search and found these at Mitsua.

    I’ve started Operation Fatso a few weeks ago. Zoe’s weight is in the 5th percentile so I’m pretty sure she just has my genes but even so, I still would feel better if she had a lil pudge. You know how after kids eat they get that round Vietnamese potbellied pig belly? Well she don’t get that. And she’s been 21 lbs since February. I hope by the end of summer she’ll be at 24-25 lbs. That’s my mommy goal.

    So ever since I got her her new table digs meal time seems more fun for her. When I say fun I mean she spills the water all over her and asks for more and she likes to stick her hands and utensils in the cup as if she’s washing them. Good times.

  • Update on Sesame Place

    So let me give you an update on Sesame Place. Actually let me just sum it up in pictures for you.
    So we got there at 12:45. Here’s a photo of us going in…

    …and then…
    IMG_3729
    ..here is us leaving. I think we were there less than an hour? We didn’t even make it halfway in. Stop laughing. We went in and there were just SOOOOOOOOOOO many people! And it was SOOOOOOOOOOO hot! I actually said outloud “Omigod. This is the stuff that we’re gonna have to deal with from now on.” And we just felt sooo overwhelmed and the heat wasn’t helping.

    These 2 photos I took while the hubs was waiting in line. She kept screeching “Elmo Elmo!” And she kept going up to kids just sitting on the curb and as she’s walking by them she’ll stop, bend her head towards theirs and goes “hi!”

    We decided first thing was to get Zoe something to eat. We got in line for food. I’m pretty sure the ac was working but because there was so many people you couldn’t really tell. After waiting a minute in line the hubs goes “I’m about to say f**k this.” So I said “If you say f**k this now then you have to promise we’ll come back during the week.” Deal. We got the HELL outta there and headed to Burger King. They had an awsome playland but Zoe was too little to go through so I went in there with her. She was really hesitant because it was dark inside (kinda like Chucky’s Cheese Factory) but once we went down the slide she wanted to go back up again. She loved the slide!

    Afterwards we headed to mother’s house and stayed there for the rest of the weekend. Owen and Zoe kept fighting over little things like who got to play with the yellow dump truck or who got to play with the blue ball. They never really fought before which to me means Zoe is changing. She’s growing up.

  • DIY Birthday Party Projects

    I am SOOOOOOOOOOO sorry I took so long getting this to you. Here’s all the info you need.

    :: Fonts ::
    You can download free fonts
    here.

    :: Flag Banner ::
    Just get different decorative paper. If you get a 12×12 sheet it’s better cause you can cut out 3 on that. Also it helps if you buy paper that’s printed on both sides otherwise you’ll have to tape them together. I also used different sized square and rectangular sheets of paper as fillers which was REALLY helpful. I sewed the top together because it would be easier for me to slide the flags around had I taped it shut instead. Just make your template out of card stock first. Oh and if you’re on a budget, wrapping paper also works great. I hung them all on yarn.

    :: Birthday Banner + Party Hats ::
    Here‘s a birthday banner + party hat DIY project at Paper Source that I found.

    If you like the birthday banner (photo below) I made you just need:
     - decorative paper (scrap paper / wrapping paper)
     - decorative edge scissors
     - regular scissors
     - glue
     - different fonts
     - double sided tape

    If you like the party hats that I made you can find the directions here on Martha Stewart. For the poms there’s a contraption you can buy at AC Moore or Michael’s where they sell yarn. It’s specifially to make pom balls. Make sure you buy good quality yarn.

    :: Cake Stand ::
    Here is a site that shows you how to make a cupcake stand.

    :: Similac Bottle Centerpieces ::
    To make these all you need are old Similac Formula bottles. Peel off the label and get decorative paper cut to the same size as the labels and double side sticky tape them on.

    For the flowers I found the book on sale at Target for SUPER cheap. The flowers come perforated so all you do is punch them out and layer them and glue them together. I found these skewers at a Korean grocery store. These skewers are awsome because of the flat end. Makes it easier to hot glue the flowers on. You’ll need something to weigh the bottles down. I suggest sand. I would even suggest pouring some water onto the sand.

    :: Dolgoim :::
    You can use any type of hard candy really. Or Goya beans. I used starburt jelly beans and white and blay goya beans. This isn’t really hard. It’s just very time consuming and you WILL burn your fingers.

    You will need:
     - Hot glue gun
     - Hot glue sticks
     - Hard candy / Beans / Gum balls
     - Paper towel rolls

    I did 5 of them. You can do whatever design your heart desires. I wanted to do a mouse for the year that she was born so I actually found this picture online of Hello Kitty in a mouse costume, got rid of the costume part, blew it up, and taped it to a paper towel roll.
