More Vocab & A Trip To The Playground
Ok so Zoe’s been on a learning streak lately. So far this week she’s learned a new word each day. Sunday she learned “pooh” for WInnie the Pooh. Monday she came over to me with a book and said “book“. Tuesday she grabbed a cup and stood underneath the water dispenser on the fridge door and said “wayur” (water) and then later when she hit me I said “NO HITTING ZOE! OKAY?!” She said “okay“. This morning when she was watching the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse cartoon they started singing the Hot Dog song and she said “ot-dog-uh” like a lil fobby toddler. She seriously amazes me. I’m just like WHOA SLOW DOWN!
I took Zoe to the Barnes + Noble in Edgewater yesterday. While walking around getting in people’s faces, Zoe approached 2 little girls. They were both on the floor reading the same pop-up book and were trying to locate all the fairies on the page. Zoe walked over to them, stuck her face between one of the girl’s and her book, cocked her head to the side, and said “HI!” *sigh* They both said hi but one of the girls kept saying “Oh she’s sooo cute and kept caressing Zoe’s cheek. I found out that the 2 girls were cousins and the one girl that was into Zoe was 6 years old and named Amanda. Her cousin kept telling Amanda to read but Amanda kept hugging Zoe and touching her face. I asked her if she had a little brother or sister. Her cousin answered for her, “No. Amanda’s an only child but I have a little brother.” And the whole time she spoke Amanda ignored us and just kept holding Zoe’s hand and answering hi back to all of Zoe’s obnoxious ones.
And this my friends, is why you have baby number dos. Number one will get very lonely.
I went because I wanted to buy Where The Wild Things Are for Zoe. And for kids I only like getting the hardback because they always rip up the paperbacks. I’ve always hated paperbacks. I like my spines thick. So in the store it costs $17.95. If you buy it online it’s $11.66. If you have membership (which I do) it’s $10.49. If you have an extra coupon of 15% off (which I did) it’s $8.91. And with shipping & tax it still comes out cheaper than buying it in the store. I love me a good deal!
