  • Project: Closet

I am done! I am done! I am done! I am a procrastinator but I am now done! My closet collapsed back in the beginning of September. So I wanted to give it a makeover. I finished painting my closet and wallpapered one side of it.

  • 2010 KAM Overnight Trip

So we have been talking about this trip since November and it finally came. I had a lot of fun just getting to know all the girls better. I think even though it was just 1 night everyone missed their kids by the next morning.  I spoke to Zoe on the phone in the evening and I said “I miss you.” She said “I miss you…..I missing me.” Okay dork.

I hardly EVER go to A.C. but I love the Borgata because of all of Chihuly’s glasswork. It’s beautiful.

Ok so after dinner we headed back to the room and opened up our Secret Santa gifts. This is the only photo I could post because the rest are a little too x-rated for me to show. Just know we had a good time and that I now possess awsome blackmail photos. Mmmmhmmm.

  • I Can’t Keep Up

Honestly I can’t keep track of her words anymore. It’s to the point where she’s saying phrases now.
Zoe’s words: chippy chippy chomp, dj lance, seven dwarves, alligator, dinosaur, sponge bob, iridessa, silver mist, terrance, fawn, rosetta, incredible

    Zoe Stories:
:: A few weeks ago her father burped and Zoe exclaimed “Bless you ahpah!”
:: She’s ALL about buckling seatbelts. Like ALLLLL about it. She now climbs into her high chair and buckles herself in. After she’s done eating and has climbed down from her highchair she’ll rebuckle the seatbelt. After I buckle her into her car seat she wants to buckle the chest buckle herself and then as soon as I climb into the driver’s seat all I hear is “Umma, seatbelt.”  I was GOING TO!
:: One morning she was standing at her table eating cheese and watching Sesame Street. I thought she was doing her biz so I said ”Zoe? Are you pooping?” She said “Noooooooo!………No poopy. I bongoo (fart).”
:: So Zoe now knows that sometimes the moon follows us to places because we were out once and she noticed the moon from her carseat. I had said “C’mon moon. Come home with us!” and when we got home she looked out the window and saw that it had followed us home. Well last thursday we went out to eat pho for dinner and I had planned to meet the hubs at the restaurant. I was just leaving the house and had put Zoe on the ground while I locked up the front door. I hear “Moon! Moon! Umma moooooon!……C’mon moon! C’mon!………………….. Let’s get going.”
:: Sometimes while Zoe’s playing I hear her say “Mommy said doooooon’t touch.”
:: We now hear her singing to herself when she’s sitting in her carseat or while she’s playing. Some of her favorite songs are Twinkle Twinkle, Tigger and Pooh theme song, Happy Birthday, and Andy Samberg’s Alligator Chomp (she calls it the chippy chippy chomp)
:: She is on a first name basis with Jack Black
:: She can say and recognize the colors black, white, red, blue, purple, orange, yellow, green, blue, and pink
:: The hubs and I watch Jersey shore because we just think it’s funny. So he’s been trying to teach Zoe this song and he’s trying to teach her how to do the fist pump dance (specifically the one that comes out at 1:10 and again at 3:40). So far Zoe can sing “We don’t pump our gas” but hers sounds like “We don’t pump-a-pass.”

So since the hubs quit smoking he’s been having really bad munchies. So this one time after dinner he said “Let’s go to Whole Foods and pick out dessert!” So we would each pick something out. Zoe picked a cupcake, I picked tiramisu, and the hubs picked cheesecake. Zoe and I were also checking out the plants and she really wanted to take a flower home so I let her pick out this potted primrose. We leave it in the office in front of the window. Yeserday she came with me to water the plants and she wanted to pick it up and take it to the living room. I told her that that would hurt it. So while I’m watering my plants I see her lean towards her plant and say “I mish you.” and then she kissed it’s leaf. So cute.

  • The Family Dog

A few days ago virtualberta left me a comment. She had written:
Based on your last few posts, do you now co-sleep with zoe? if so, in the period that you put her down and before you go to sleep, how do you make sure she doesn’t fall off the bed? does she ever get up before you and wander around on her own? Right now it’s so easy co-sleeping with my baby boy, esp with midnight feedings, but then our bed doesn’t have sides and people tell me they start to roll and crawl on their own later and i really don’t want him to fall off the bed.

Ever since Zoe was an infant she’s been pretty good most of the time when it’s come to sleep. She started sleeping straight through the night at 6 weeks. She’s been sleeping in her crib almost always except when she’s been sick or if she woke up at random times here and there. My friends have even looked to me for guidance when it came to their babies sleeping schedules. I think at the most I’ve cried her out twice. The first time was super hard and I bawled my eyes out and took a shower at like 2am so I could block out her cries. The 2nd time was in Cali and it wasn’t so bad cause I had to cry her out in the daytime since she wasn’t used to taking her naps in a playpen. As of May last year that all went to shit and she’s been cosleeping with us since then. As much as I want her to sleep in her own bed I love waking up next to her. She now lies there and announces to the world “I wake up.” or she’ll call out “Mommy!” And her voice is the sweetest thing to hear first thing in the am. As for rolling off the bed I’m not really worried.  Her father border’s one side and a heavy tempurpedic pillow on the other. She never rolls on top of the pillow. And she’s never gotten of bed in the middle of the night. I think that all really depends on your kid’s personality and just how active they usually are.

Oh so I forgot to mention where I sleep or do border patrol. Here’s a little visual for you and Zoe’s gonna help me out since she had just woken up from her nap. (I was doing the laundry so that’s why there’s no covers)

That’s right. I have been pushed to the foot of the bed. It’s really sad if you think about it. Zoe you jerk.

  • Foam Board Poster Deal!

I had gotten these done for Zoe’s 1st birthday party. I used them just as decoration around the room (they were originally supposed to be for a game but I ran out of time). I had 12 photos done, one for every month of her first year. They were high resolution photos printed on foam boards. My friend, who’s a graphic designer, made these for me. I was telling him how I think this would be popular for a lot of mothers for their baby’s first birthday or just even to put around the house. So he’s hooking you mamas up.

Contact Joshua @ joshua@hnmediasolutions.com (tell him Susan sent you)

  • Fondness For Pink

Friday night I put Zoe down at 9:45ish. She just wanted to do all these things with her new doll before she went to bed (swaddle, feed, etc). So after she fell asleep I took Mr Pink and Mr Blue and threw them in the wash. The hubs and I stayed up late to watch Star Trek (the most recent one that came out). He passed out half way in so I finished it alone.  After the movie ended we crawled into bed next to Zoe. I remember saying “I hope she doesn’t wake up looking for Mr Pink.” That was at 2am. At 3am I hear “Umma!….Umma!….Pink?” Shit!!!

Me: Zoe Mr Pink is taking a bath right now downstairs.
    Zoe: Pink?
Me: You go to sleep now and you can see him tomorrow morning. Okay?

I mean it was pretty dark but I could still make out her face since it was only a few inches away from mine. She had the cutest, saddest expression. She was frowning, her lips were quivering, and I could tell she was going to start tearing cause she started whimpering quietly. She was just so deeply saddened by this bit of information. You could tell she was trying hard to keep it together. It was so cute. Oh be still my ovaries.

I sang her itsy bitsy spider while promising her a better tomorrow with her newly washed friend.
We got her posse in the morning.

    :: 01.07.09 :: Snow White

Yesterday Zoe and I hit up Toys “R” Us because I wanted her to pick out a baby doll. So since she’s going though the princess phase I was thinking about getting a Snow White doll. Once we got there…

I was thinking more like this:                               She was thinking more like this:
    snowwhitedoll2   snowwhitedoll3

Um hello yobosehyoh? Ages 3-7 little girl! Then I saw this and fell in love:
    snowwhite4
It’s part of Disney’s new Pook-A-Looz (PAL) line. They’re sooooo cute! I wanna collect them all!

We walked out not buying any of the Snow Whites but we did walk out with some cute things:

  • Visiting Owen + Kayla

Zoe’s words: See you later, adios, peace out, Sully, Mike, Boo (We’ve been watching Monster’s Inc lately), Ovejita (she says it the way Murray says it)

    Zoe’s stories:
-Apparently wednesday morning Zoe woke up at 4am. I didn’t know the time. I just remember I felt someone staring at me so I woke up and I see this chinky eyed baby smiling down at me saying “hi umma” and I remember her father already sitting up waiting to change her diaper. I talked to the hubs about it when he came home from work wednesday evening. She had actually woken him up first by slapping him on the face and saying “twinkle twinkle”
-In the morning the hubs usually goes to run the shower and while it warms up he climbs into bed on my side to cuddle. This morning he climbs in next to me and then Zoe tries to push him away from me while saying “Ehcoose me. Ehcoose me. Move hun. Appah (daddy) no hug hug hug.”

:: 12.26.09 :: Visiting Cousin Owen and his new little sister Kayla
We went down to my mother’s the day after Christmas to celebrate my mom’s 70th birthday, visit my new niece, and to hand out gifts to the kids. Owen and Zoe have always gotten along. He’s always been protective of her. If she got too close to the tv he would block her with his body to protect her eyes. If she got too close to the stairs he would start yelling “OH NO BABY! OH NO BABY! And try to block her path. When she first started to walk she would lean up against the wall and start banging the back of her head against it and Owen would run over to her and put his hand on the wall to cushion her head with each bang. He’s going to be a good brother to Kayla.he s

Zoe was really excited to hold Kayla. She was really good. She talked jibberish to her and caressed her cheek and kissed her. When she was done she said “All done” and proceeded to shove kayla out of the way.

  • Personal Hygiene

Zoe needed to get some blood drawn yesterday to check for anemia and lead.
She was totally happy sitting on my lap tapping on this leather arm bar thingamajigger and pretending it was a piano. She knew something was up when I started to hold her hands down so she couldn’t move her arms and started to cry while eyeing the doctor for suspicious activity. She started wailing when she saw the needle and she bawled through the whole thing up until they took drew the needle out. However, while her blood was being drawn she was saying something in between her cries.

Me: What Zoe? I didn’t hear you. Say it again?
    Zoe: Ughhhhhhh washa hands uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Me: You wanna wash your hands?
    Zoe: uhhhhhhhhhhh yesh uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Me: Ok we’ll wash your hands after it’s all done.

What a random thing to say? Of all the things to say while getting blood drawn this one is just thinking of her personal hygiene. What a weirdo.
