Zoe’s Daily Funny:
So Zoe’s thing lately is to go up to random seniors and ask them if they’re old. EMBARRASSING (sung in my opera voice)!!! Let me give you a scenario…
We were at the grocery store. Zoe and I had to use the bathroom so we’re waiting our turn outside the ladies room. We hear the toilet flush inside and this old lady comes out. Zoe goes…
Zoe: I was scared of you?
Old Lady: Of me?
Zoe: Yeah
Old Lady: Why?
Me: Because you flushed the toilet and she hates that sound.
Old Lady: Oh why, I’m sorry.
Zoe: Are you old?
Me: *sigh* Zoe! (through clenched teeth)
Old Lady: Oh what dear? Did she just ask me if I was old.
Me: Umm…no.
Zoe: Are you old?
Old Lady: (laughing) Yes I am old.
Me: BUT SHE’S YOUNG AT HEART! (giving Zoe my dirtiest look) I’m sorry.
Old Lady: (still laughing) Oh don’t be. She made me laugh.
Omigod Zoe! Like ZIP IT UP!
This past weekend we had a playdate with Lila. Before they came over Zoe and Lila were talking on the phone and Lila’s on speaker…
Zoe: Lila are you coming over?
Lila: …….
Zoe: Are you coming over now?
Lila: ……..
Zoe: Lila are you coming?
Lila: ………
Zoe: Lila, put your mother on the phone.
Today we go out to the car and it’s gray outside and drizzling. I’m putting Zoe’s backpack in while she’s standing next to me looking at the sky and I hear her go…
Zoe: Today’s going to be a horrible day.
You guys are really sweet. Thanks for everyone’s encouraging words. I know I’ll get through it. It’s just like emotionally weird. I’ve never ever gone through this before. I think I’m usually a happy-go-lucky person. However lately for the past few months I’ve been really cynical….bitter…frustrated…easily annoyed…basically someone you just don’t want to be around. Just super moody. Honestly though, these past few days I’ve been feeling a lotbetter. The hubs took me on a dinner date Saturday night. We invited our friends Jin and Angie to double date with us and made reservations at Cucharamama. It’s a Peruvian restaurant in Hoboken. Sooo good. Zoe went to play with her cousins and we dropped Kayden off at our friends, Irene and Dave’s house. Before getting there the hubs goes “You need this hun. It’ll be good for you to have nice adult conversation with no distractions.” I’m thinking “I do not need adult conversation!” But honestly? I SOOOOO DID! It was such a great date. Good company, good food, good conversation. It’s so easy to get lost amongst the dirty diapers, juice boxes, and time outs. I really felt like I lost myself. I feel like with my husband I lost “us”. I remember after I had Zoe and I was just embracing being a mother I remember thinking “I was BORN to do this! I was born to be a mother.” Now I’m like “This is all I am. Just a mother. That’s all I am.” Hahaha…. I do see a light at the end of the tunnel though. Thanks hun! I really needed that date. Big HUGS homie!
Kayden, Kayden, sweet little fatty….
Kayden’s 2nd tooth has broken through. He can sit up on his own. He can wink (so cute). He can crawl. He can wave bye. Sometimes if Zoe is taking a crap, Kayden will stand in his walker right in the doorway and just wait for her while inhaling her toxic poop fumes. That’s love man. I would also say that Kayden reaches for both me and C equally. Sometimes he looks at me like “Oh. You again.” And when he sees his dad he just like lights up. He loves being tossed in the air. Oh and he’s starting to stand while holding onto stuff. He’s growing up so fast. We just took him for a haircut on Saturday and he H A T E D it. The hubs calls his look dumb and dumber. So mean. He looks like a different baby with the haircut.
A few days ago he was just so moody and was constantly itching his eyes like he was sooo frustrated at them. Plus he got another eczema flare up. So I’m thinking allergies right? So I found this article on Babycenter.com
How can I tell if my baby has nasal allergies or just a cold?
Because the symptoms of nasal allergies are much like cold symptoms — runny nose, watery eyes, cough, nasal congestion, sneezing — it can be tough to tell the difference. There are some telltale signs of allergies, though.
Ask yourself the following questions:
·Does it seem like your baby always has a cold? Colds usually wind down in a week to ten days; allergies don’t. UM YES!
Is your baby’s nose continually stuffy or running? HELLO?! YES!
Is she constantly wiggling, wiping, or pushing her nose up in what doctors call the allergic salute?
Is the mucus that drains from her nose clear and thin (as opposed to yellow or greenish and thick)? Sometimes.
Does she seem to sneeze a lot?
Are her eyes itchy, red, and watery? YES!
Does the skin under her eyes look dark or purple or blue — what doctors call allergic shiners? YES!
Does she breathe through her mouth? Sometimes!
Does she have a dry cough?
Is her skin irritated or broken out in an itchy red rash? YES
If you answered yes to one or more of these questions, there’s a good chance your baby is allergic to something in her environment. Kids with nasal allergies are also more prone to ear infections, asthma, and sinus infections.
So this week he’s only on formula and squash for solids till I can start weeding out what’s causing the itcy eyes and the eczema.
