  • Zoe’s Sick

Words I never thought I’d hear come out of the hubs’ mouth: “Hun, she was grabbing my nipple and then she tried to bite it!”

It’s 1:45am and I’m not tired. I took like an hour nap next to Zoe who kept waking up and after she finally stayed down I was awake-awake. Don’t you hate that?

So this week I took off from work. I have been busy. Zoe’s had an awful cold for the past 2 weeks. I think she got one, it was about to go away, and then she ended up getting another one. This one comes with a bad cough. So because she’s been sick she’s been co-sleeping with us. There was a point in the beginning of her cold where she was waking up at like 3am so we were like eff it. Why walk all the way to her room and bring her into bed with us at 3am when we can just sleep with her and have her wake us up at 3 without physically getting up? Ya know? And I know we really shouldn’t but honestly, what’s the harm besides having to ween them off of the habit later?  Last night however I’m so glad we did. We put her down at around 8:30ish and I went to sleep next to her. At around 10 she started having this coughing fit while sleeping. She was laying on her back and she started to throw up her formula and it was just spewing all over her hair and face and it was pooling at her mouth so I bolted out of bed and turned her on her side. Then she started rubbing her face and I’m like GREAAAAAAAAAAAAT. Now it’s really getting everywhere. So we gave her a bath and I gave her a bottle of water afterwards so that she could just clean out her mouth. She was in a really good mood despite the horrific ordeal which is now embedded in her mommy’s mind FOR-E-VER. To see your lil one go through that… Now the hubs thinks I’m a paranoid freak. Whenever she’d take a nap today and if I heard her cough I’d tell him to go check on her or I’ll bolt up the stairs. Had she been sleeping in her own crib, honestly, I don’t think we would have known.

On top of Hog being sick I’ve been working on some “Susan” projects at home.

Painting the foyer (I started this yesterday)
I originally wanted to go with a beige but I definitely love this rich brown color more. Hopefully this will be completed by tomorrow.

  • where do you have the energy to do all that?…Wow, i’m really really impressed with your talent….Way to go….Awwww, poor Zoey…I don’t know who to feel more sorry for…you or her…….Well, after all these colds shes getting, she definitly will be a strong toddler…..I hope she feels well………and girl, get some sleep…i’m tired for you…………

better get to the grocery quick! we went last night and there was like nothing left at SR! (but we got our free turkey!!!YAY!)

  • I love your picture frame wall…I’m planning to do something rustic like that too.

  • Oh poor thing!  That must have been so scary to hear and see.  You’re not paranoid…you are just being a mommy.  That weekend that Matthew went to Urgent Care and ER, we allowed him to sleep with us too.  I was glad of that since he fever spiked up really high during the night.  Having him in our bed allowed us to monitor him and give him water constantly.

  • wow, the brown looks nice … but where does it end?  where the stairs start?  where does the grayish color I love start ?  so many questions!

Zoe’s such a big girl now!  I cant wait to see her tomorrow.  You guys are coming over right?????????

  • @Jcarnation - aww thanks. yes and i still am. i hate painting the ceiling!

  • oh man, marian had a bad cough for most of october.  i understand… the coughing sucks because it disrupts their sleep and yours, and causes them to gag and spit up so much more than usual.  at one point, i thought the cough would NEVER go away.  finally it did and i’m really hoping that’s it for this season!!  good luck w/ zoe.

  • i can’t believe zoe tried chomping on hub’s nipple!  too funny.

  • Bite harder! lol

I love that Brown color. What’s it called and what is the brand?

Great job on the photo wall. I’m working on mine slowly. It’s hard getting things to come together. Then I have to order all the photos in different sizes. I love what you did with the botanical garden photos. I’m doing the same with my garden photos and photos from mexico because they have such bright rich colors.

  • I hope Zoe gets better soon, and Love what you did with the hall way

  • @GeLLiBeLLy - aww thanks! i need to take more non zoe photos. i miss that.

  • Loves it (what you did with the hallway). Hope Zoe gets better soon.

  • love the brown :)

  • i love your bulletin boards! do you just use wrapping paper? and how do you attach the paper to the cork? help!!

  • Before you drop her off at that daycare, perhaps insert her in a bubble?  Poor Zoey.
I don’t think there’s anything wrong with co-sleeping, especially when she’s not feeling good.  I would do the same thing.

I love that brown color, what brand of paint did you use?  And girl, you took those pictures?? They’re awesome!!

    Hope Zoe is feeling better.

  • @jiye - yes, just regular wrapping paper or decorative paper. use double sided permanent tape by scotch.

  • @a_perfect_miracle - the color is by valspar (lowe’s) safari beige

  • @Miss_Snow_Pea - the color is by valspar (lowe’s) safari beige
