  • Zoe’s First Souvenir Collection

I’m going through a yellow phase lately so I decided to give my page a little makeover.  Oh and Zoe’s fever is back. SIGH SIGH!

    Ok question.
Do you ever have days where you sneeze or laugh really hard and you wished you’d practiced doing your kiegels a lot more often than you should have?

    Ok me neither.

Anyways moving right along, after our lil daycation out to Fire Island I wanted to start a collection of souvenirs for Zoe of vacations to come. So I went to the container store, bought a small jar, and filled it with the rocks and shells I found on the beach and printed a family photo from that day with the location and date on it so we can always always look back on it together. It’s also a nice way to display a family photo.

Low and behold in August’s Cookie Magazine and in the Real Simple Solutions Magazine that I bought yesterday they wrote about the very same things. Um herro!? Eckskoose me! I swear I should be researching for a magazine or something. Martha, call me bitch. Let’s do lunch.

  • I saw this in the mag too…only problem is nowhere to put this stuff!!! I’m scared to death of clutter. Hey do you have a photo printer at home? I;m thinking of getting one but not sure if its worth it!

  • I keep a cup full of shells from all the beaches i’ve been to, but this is a MUCH nicer idea!

  • What a wonderful idea!! It’ll be a great simple decor around the house.

  • dang it woman!  you have so many cute and creative ideas it just sickens me sometimes!

  • kewl!

i’ve seen nearly the same the kind of jars and labels from the real simple photo in a Martha Stewart magazine from a couple of years back.

your take is especially fresh and clever because the photo ties it all in very neatly and is a great way to display the photo, too, like you said.

  • i saw this and thought “how cool” but like hkcho…not sure if i’ll have space to put it. i’ll store it and wait to move to a bigger place. but shoot…we missed out on a lot of places we went so far!

It would be funny if MS somehow came across your site and was reading this. LOL.

  • your jar looks better than the ones in the magazines!

  • wow, thats a great idea………you should work for one of these places…….whatya waiting for?….Sammie has a collection of souvenirs but only in snow globes and trinkets of all the places we’ve been…I’m sure Zoey’s collection will be growing a lot as she gets older……love the idea!…and i love the yellow theme…….
