First Family Vacation!
Operation Fatso was going soooooooo well. She started eating a lot right when I first started writing about Operation Fatso. However we hit a snafu. She’s been doing diarhea since saturday night and today she got diaper rash from it. *sigh* At least she can communicate it to me now. She grabbed her diaper and said “AIYA!” Which in Korean means “Ouch!” Poor thing. Hopefully everything will go away by tomorrow.
On a positive note, we have booked our vacation! We are going to Punta Cana a month from now. I cannot wait! We’re gonna be staying at Melia Caribe which is supposed to be a really good hotel for families.
So I’ve been getting stuff ready for our plane ride for Zoe. We have flown to Cali before together and even the flight going there was a lil hard, the flight back she was a gem. Like a diamond if I had to pick one. However she is older now and more restless so I just wanna be super prepared since it’s going to be a 4 hour flight. I do not want to experience a meltdown mid air. It might kick me into having one as well. Oh my poor husband.
So anyhoots I’ve been a little Hello Kittied out. Even so I can’t stop googling stuff. Did you know they’ve Hello Kittified everything? When I say everything I mean the universe. Like for example you can get a Hello Kitty muffler, toaster, toilet paper holder, ashtray, even pasta, etc. If you ever do a google search for something try looking it up under Hello Kitty and I shit you not, it will be there. There’s even a toilet and I just saw a pair of men’s hello kitty boxer briefs. Hello!? Ridiculous! (ordering them for the namps as I type (that’s short for nampyon (husband))). Omigod they even have Hello Kitty face masks! Like the ones you wear because you don’t want to get SARS or when you’re playing doctor.
I meant with the kids you pervs. Tsk tsk…dirty dirties….

when vacation resorts say they’re “kid friendly”, does that mean that they have a daycare so that parents can have some time on their own?

@efficientb2 - i don’t know if that what that means. but there’s a toddler pool and children activities and a children’s playground. some places have a daycare but they only take certain age ranges.

The worst of the Hello Kitty world… I saw a t-shirt in the city and thought, how cute, but my husband says they were referring to something else. yuk! That’s all I’ll say! yuk!

girl, i think every parent with girls, go through a hello kitty phase…check out H and M..they have pretty cute and different stuff……….one of my adult friend always brings Sammie brings hello kitty things because both share that love for it…..i think sometimes its us parents get more hooked then our kids………lol……wow, have fun on your trip…….never been but hope to after i read your review……have fun looking forward to it….

Ohh, let me know if you have any good plane survivial tips! We’re going to Hawaii with Morgan in October for two weeks and that’s a 10+ hour ride (plus an additional short ride to Maui on a tiny plane). We got her a seat which will hopefully help, but I think the girl has ADD so I am a little nervous cuz I expect her to have a melt down after 30 mins.

@Chabuki - i heard having them suck on a paci or bottle help with the ear popping when taking off. i wish i had known this because she was super cranky going to cali but on the flight back, since i knew that tidbit, she was fine.

@PetiteMandoo - You just show your temporary card at the restaurant and they’ll give you a free breakfast for your roomie, so it doesn’t matter if you’ve already booked. Maybe they’ll give you the reward points for your stay. Can’t hurt to call them up and ask. “You can also earn mas Rewards points even if you book a vacation package through a tour operator, depending on the number of nights you stay….”
@PetiteMandoo - will definitely try the bottle since she doesnt take a paci. Though I’m more worried about keeping her entertained for all those hours. Even a 1 hour car ride with her is a struggle unless she falls asleep.
lol i am debating getting a hello kitty case for my iphone. they have like 4 different designs to pick from. i hope the flight goes well! it looks like a fun place. we went to punta cana when i was pregnant and it was so fun! one travel tip i read is to get a bunch of little cheapy toys and introduce a different one every hour or 45 minutes so there is something interesting to play with during the flight.
Punta Cana is in the DR, right? I’ll be waiting for your review of the place, because Andy has been saying he wants to visit the DR……to visit the slums of where Vladimir Guerrero (LA Angels baseball player) grew up. He’s only slightly kidding, but hey – if the man wants to visit a Carribean island, he’s gotta take me with him, no?!
Target has a bunch of things in their dollar section that’s Hello Kitty; even had some ziploc baggies! Have lots of fun on your trip!
