A Day In The Life of Zoe
:: 08.27.09 ::
Yesterday was a long, long day. At least if felt that way to me. And it seems like someone has aborted Team Daddy and wants her position back as VP on Team Mommy. I’m a sucker for her cuteness mixed in with some backtalking so I caved.
On our way to meet daddy at the bus stop we stopped by to say hello to Zoe’s friends. She always complains that they don’t listen to her.
(Yes. She is wearing her Hello Kitty eyemask as a headband. Don’t ask me why.)
I love this part of my day. It’s just routine. We head downstairs and I say “Zoe get in your car” and she just knows to go and get in. While I’m pushing her she’ll keep turning around to smile at me cuz she knows where we’re going. Then we get to the bus stop and wait. If anyone is sitting on the bench she gets really upset. She loves sitting on the bench to wait and thinks that that is OUR bench and nobody elses. Then when the bus finally arrives and her daddy gets off and holds his arms out for her to run to him in front of everyone else that got off the bus….she disses him. *sigh* What a cherished moment. *signle tear* I love the walk home even though it can be an ordeal at times with Miss Busy-body. It’s just the 3 of us walking home, talking about our day while yelling at Zoe to stop running, or stop touching stuff, or to get up off the sidewalk, or don’t put that in your mouth. It’s just 3 blocks of being in sync with my family. Cause once we get home I’m running around trying to set up for dinner while C’s busy trying to keep Zoe busy. And it’s hard for C and I to converse during dinner without any interuptions. Then the dishes have to be washed or the trash has to be collected. And then I’m running around trying to get her ready for her bath or bed. It’s the little things in life that make you happy.

i love your narrations
hahah thanks for the peek into your life! Very entertaining….Zoe’s got so much character! Love it!
Your picture comments are always so funny. I enjoy reading them.
<3
Zoe’s bench pictures are so cute! LOL
I think it’s ubber adorable that you guys walk out to meet the daddy and walk home together. =)
sounds like our day…except you have to add another little person to the mix. we walk 3 blocks to pick hubby up from the BART station (our railway transit). M loves to walk in the leaves that fall because they make a crunchy sound. great. and you know how slow they walk. ugh…wait until zoe really wants to do things by herself. hehe
wow, can’t believe you already have post for Friday. you are on top of things!!
Desmond LOVES that same car (but his is PINK!)
I SO know what you mean about treasuring and enjoying the little moments. I love the last few hours of the day before Des goes down for the night since it’s hectic yet I love the few hours of Lee family time. I guess these are the moments that we’ll be reminiscing about when the kids leave the “nest” someday.
you know what I like best about your blogs? Your family somehow always makes it work
What fun days!! I wish I was Zoe…but the statues by the elementary school are SCARY!
I love that you guys have that routine. I’m sure it will be one of those moments that she’ll remember doing as a child, well, that is if it continues into when she can actually remember things when she gets older. ha ha. But, yeah, family time rocks!!!!
Zoe is getting so big and beautiful….love the first photo with her foot hanging..=)
the narrations on the pictures are so great lol .
I’m so impressed that you and Zoe go out to meet your hubby. I told my hubby and I think he got a little jealous. He’s a lucky guy having his 2 favorite girls come and greet him after a long day at work. Maybe I should do the same thing… but gosh, I don’t know if I have the patience to stand and wait with my 2 kids since both act like wild dogs off their leash when we’re out.
I’ve been peeping in on your blogs for quite some time, and not commenting.
I have to subscribe, that kid is just too damn cute to miss out on.
The way you describe being a mom is really touching.
*heart melt*
OMG, the part about your favorite time of the day was so heart warming, almost made me tear up. Seriously, it’s really those little simple moments in our lives that are the most special.
That’s such great family time… walking home together. I bet the other bus people are jealous of your hubs because he has a happy baby to greet him everyday after work.
@jiNNie_g - hahah he calls on when he’s like 6 stops away and that’s when we head out. so we’re usually only waiting for like a few minutes.
@Phoeeenix - aww thank you! feel free to subscribe.
You guys live a in great area to raise Zoey…not too suburban but close to the city to venture out….Oh wait till Zoey gets older, ALWAYS after 5 is the busiest with rushing back home from an activity, dinner and all that comes afterwards…….Awwww, Zoey is just being a curious child and probably loves just playing outside……Great picture, especially the sunset going down…….Girl, I want my girls room and the color coordination like Zoey’s place…….BTW, she really is thinning out and growing taller…..Wow, her neck has also so long…..She is going to be a beauty……
haha! Z is such a character, how come I have a feeling that even without the captions, this girl is full of spunk and fiestyness?? Am i wrong? hehehe~ i love the pic of her sitting next to the statues. Shes just their size.
we have that buggy and I feel like it’s such a pain to take around with us! walks dn’t turn into walks, they turn into “NO! I’m going to do it!!!!!” And then I get all huffy and puffy.
the bus stop pic is precious…and i love her silver loafers
@so_droll80 - have you ever seen those double seated bikes?
what a great family ritual. loved this entry,
eyemask as a headband? such a trendsetter!
