  • Family Vacation :: Tulum :: Day Four

    Zoe’s Daily Funny:
I ordered Zoe these really cute little black crocs last month. However her feet started to grow a bit in that short time so the shoes started to get tight and gave her blisters. So I ordered her these new crocs in red (she chose it since it’s her favorite color) and they arrived yesterday. They’re a bit big but she LOVES them and we also got a Snow White and Ariel jibbitz to go with it. Since they were a little big I told if she was going to wear them to school she had to wear it with socks. She wasn’t too keen on the idea. This morning I told her she didn’t have to and she was like sooooo happy . So on the 2 minute drive to school she kept talking about crocs.

Zoe: I like my crocs mommy! Thank you!
    Me: You’re wecome Zoe.
Zoe: I have red crocs. Chloe (friend) has crocs too. Chloe has purple crocs. Everybody has crocs. Mommy has crocs. Daddy has crocs. Mommy has black crocs. Daddy has block crocs. Mommy has small crocs. Daddy has biiiiig one. Mine is so cute. I have Snow White and Ariel.

I mean how how much can you really say about crocs? Zoe apparently had a mouthful.

Sorry I haven’t posted. I’ve been tired and so busy with my new position in the HR department.

Today I’m making Zoe a dr’s appt. Tuesday when I picked her up from school she had these little tiny flat spots on her face. Almost like freckles. Her complexion is really nice. She’s got smooth skin and it’s just even toned everywhere that when she does get something on it I notice it. Yesterday I went to pick her up and it looked like there was more and it looked like it got darker. It doesn’t look like it itches or that it even bothers her but It’ll give me some piece of mind to know it’s not virus related or anything serious. Her teacher suggested that it might be freckles but I mean all in a day or two? I don’t think so. They’re even on the lids of her eyes. I’ll take a photo of it later today.

Two things I forgot to mention:
       1.
I forgot to mention that in the middle of the first night Zoe rolled off the bed. Oopsie. She was crying and upset. I was worried about her getting a concussion I didn’t sleep so well that night but she was fine.
       2. When we were driving to the airport and even on our flight to Mexico Zoe kept saying “I so cited to see the ocean!”

The weather  on this particular day was gorgeous. We got dressed, had breakfast, and then headed out to the pool. She hates the ocean. I think it’s just overwhelming for her. It’s big, and open,  and I think the waves scare her a bit. Later Zoe and I went into a little swimsuit store that they had at the resort. When I wasn’t watching her she touched one of the bulbs that was lit underneath a manequin. Right when I turned around to look at her I saw smoke fizzling of the bulb and I saw her pull away really fast. They just have to touch everything don’t they?! I didn’t take that many photos on this day.

  • I love the towel animals they made for Zoe I know she must have loved them! Also the look on her face with the monkey on her head is PRICELESS. She doesn’t look quite sure she likes it or why she agreed to it!

  • shes getting so big!!

  • I think it’s normal for young kids to be afraid of the ocean. For the kids I’ve cared for, even if they go to the beach regularly, they don’t get comfortable with the waves until they’re about 4.

  • I’ve been meaning to ask but where did you guys stay?  That picture of Zoe and the monkey is awesome.  My nieces and nephews are too wussy to ever do that.

  • the monkey on the head. too funny. hope the freckles turn out to be nothing. M had a rash on her hand a long time ago, and it looked horrible, but a little hydrocortisone made it all better. it pops back up from time to time, but i’m glad it wasn’t anything worse.

  • I love the pic of the monkey on Zoe’s head.

  • awwww the ocean was too scary? wow and that monkey shot is amazing!! BTW I love crocs too! hahahah I started wearing them years ago and everyone made fun of me cuz they looked like gardening shoes! and now all my friends wear them…bahahaha

  • @bellabella - hahaha crocs are cool even though i wasn’t saying that before i got them.hahah but they sure are comfortable. screw the people that make fun of crocs. they probably have a pair of uggs and you can’t say those are pretty either. i feel like mine look like kung fu slippers or something: http://www.crocs.com/crocs-olivia/10335,default,pd.html?cid=001&cgid=women-footwear&prefn1=refinementColor&prefv1=Black
