  • Zoe’s First Time Away

    Kayden’s words:
Kayden – Kay Kay (his nickname in school)
    Where are you?- Are you?
    Pwee – Please
    Brobee- Broh
    Toodee – Toodee
    Plex – Peh
    Muno – Muno
    Banana – Nana
    Ernie – Ernie
    Abby – Abuhdah
    Juice – Gee
    Milk & Water- Milk
    Go – Go
    -He can dance on command.
-At the end of Yo Gabba Gabba, DJ Lance always says “It’s almost time to go!” and then all the characters whine “AwwWW!” Kayden goes “AaaHHH”
-I’ll say to Kayden “Did somebody say…?” and he’ll say “NANA (banana)?!” (it’s a song from Fresh Beat for those that don’t know)
-If you say “Kayden, shoes off” he’ll sit down and wait for you to take off his shoes
-If you say “Kayden, get me a bib” he’ll go grab one from his bib basket
-When you say “hold still” he’ll put his hands in the air like he’s freezing and then when you say “Wiggle wiggle wiggle” he starts giggling while shaking his whole body
-Sometimes when I’m helping him take off his t shirt at night i’ll leave it part way on his head so he looks like a child nun. He’ll look in the mirror and say “ihbeuhdah” (I’m pretty)

    Zoe’s Daily Funny:
I forgot what C was telling her to do. He asked her to do something. Something equivalent to like “for dinner you have to eat all your food and 3 pieces of broccoli” and her response to whatever it was that he said was…

Zoe: Are you kidding me?! Dad!? Are you kidding!?!

It’s funny cause sometimes when I relive these Zoe moments by writing it down in my blog, I slowly feel my energy draining.  No joke.
    ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

Zoe’s in Philly. I miss her. Hahahaha. Kayden asked for her while I was putting some of her clothes away in her room Sunday night. “Noona?…..Noona?” No Noona Kayden. I called my sister Sunday night after I put Kayden down to see how Zoe was doing (we had dropped her off that afternoon). “She didn’t ask about you guys once” was my sister’s response. Chi~. That’s fine. ‘Surely she will ask about us tomorrow’ I thought to myself. Tomorrow came. She didn’t ask. Punk child of mine. I called her a little past 4. This was my 30 second conversation with Zoe on monday on the phone…

Zoe: Hi Keun Umma (An aunt’s title on the father’s side).
    Me:  (?) Zoe?
    Zoe: Mommy!!! Hi!
Me: Hi Zo! How are you doing?
    Zoe: MommyIloveyouareyoucomingtoday?
    Me: No
    Zoe: Yessssss……
Me: So how are you doing?
Zoe: Um….Uh….I gotta go now and play with my friends.
Me: Wait! No you stay on the phone with me RIGHT NOW!
Zoe: I love you mommy bye!
Halmeh: Hello? Zoe kiss mommy bye.
Zoe: (getting back on the phone) *muah*
Me: Oh gee thanks (she’s already run off)
    Halmeh: Hi.
Me: Hi Mom. My daughter doesn’t miss me.
    Halmeh: Hahahahaha she’s sooo busy.
    Me: I know. It’s ok.

Sad, Mommy is. We talked to her for a bit monday night. She was telling us that Ellis, her cousin, got in trouble 2 times in her class that day because he kept “bothering her”. I told her she had to watch out for Ellis the way she watched out for Kayden. Ellis has never been to school. The teacher told my sister that she could tell that Ellis thinks of himself a pretty hilarious, which is why he was probably getting in trouble. Hahahaha. He’s such a wild child. My sister also told me that  Lily, the 7yr old girl that lives next to my mother’s house, was talking to my sister about Zoe…

Lily: It’s weird cause that little girl is small, but she talks like you.

Gurrrrrrl, but my sister don’t talk that much.

I talked to her for a little bit yesterday. She was pretty good responding to my questions and telling me about her day. Then after about 3 minutes she goes…

    Zoe: Mommy?
    Me: Yes?
Zoe: I love you but can I go and play.
    Me: *sigh* Fine.
    Zoe: YESSSSSSS!

She also told me that she had an “accident” in her underwear at school. I hear my sister in the background saying “Did you tell your mommy about your accident YESTERDAY?” WHAT?!!! I started lecturing her. My sister got on afterwards and said “I thought you said she was potty trained?” SHE IS! Ok. So the thing with Zoe is she hates bathrooms. Especially public. She’s scared that the toilet is going to automatically flush before she gets on it. she’s scared the hand dryer is going to turn on while she’s on the toilet. Like it’s the sound of the toilet flushing or the hand dryer going off that scares her a lot. She’s like really sensitive to it. Yet she can scream like a banshee at her highest decibel just fine. Did I ever tell you about the time we were at Target and she had just rubbed soap all over her hands and someone turned on the hand dryer and she automatically put her hands to her ears with all this foam on it and started to cry? *sigh* Oh. Em. Jee. Anyhoots I figure this is why she had her accidents. She’s probably holding it in cause she’s scared to go by herself. She wants someone to assure her that the toilet isn’t going to flush on it’s own and while she pees she wants to cover her ears “just in case” and if she’s washing her hands she wants someone to cover her ears “just in case”. She’s a hot mess when it comes to public bathrooms.

  • omg he looks so big w. his haircut! And I understand Zoe’s dilemma of public bathrooms. I also hate them…and I’m 30 -_______-

  • cute smile. wow, what a difference a haircut makes.

maybe her little friends can help her get over the fear of the hand dryer. auto-flushing toilets still scare me, too.

  • wow, he really looks so different with a haircut!  lil cutie.  even if tessa and emmy often fight if they’re ever separated, they’re so bored out of their minds, and constantly ask when the other will be home or what not. (this isn’t the case in CA though…)  I HATE it when toilets flush when I’m still on it.  It’s SO gee beun nah ppuh.  I remember when Tessa was young, she would literally tremble with fear from the hand dryer.  I felt so bad for her.

  • -Sometimes when I’m helping him take off his t shirt at night i’ll leave it part way on his head so he looks like a child nun. He’ll look in the mirror and say “ihbeuhdah” (I’m pretty) – ROFL this reminds me of a funny story. We were in AC for a friend’s birthday party. I’m weak sauce so at about 3 AM I went back to the room and fell asleep. The guys came back (four guys including my bf) at around 5 AM and I wake up to one of the friends leaning against the mirror and saying “who is that fly looking person in the mirror?” I’m holding my breath ready to burst into fits of laughter and he continues “oh that’s me” and runs his hand thru his hair. OMG I died…. I’m dying thinking about this now.

OK that was irrelevant … what I meant to say is Kayden looks exactly like your husband with the hair cut hahaha. But i like the dopey long hair cut better… mmm more child-like

  • @catch_MOI_attention - i actually don’t mind long but i don’t like it when it starts going in his ears or when it starts to get in his eyes you know?

  • @PetiteMandoo - my younger brother who isn’t so young anymore (he graduated highschool on Monday) used to be mistaken as a girl because it was IMPOSSIBLE to cut his hair. I will find a picture and post it one day.

ps – when he smiles it’s just like zoe! Closes his eyes and all. cute kids cute kids hahaha

  • Oh yea, Ellen has noiseaphobia as well.  She used to FREAK out in the bathroom whenever the hand dryer went off.

IT’s so funny how K smiles the same in both photos… like that half a wink grin is his trademark.

  • he can wink now!

  • haha Susan your kids crack me up!!! <3
