  • Skype Buddies

    Zoe’s Daily Funny:
Zoe was playing Rapunzel on sunday with her dad. That’s where she and only she is Rapunzel and you are whatever she tells you you are.

Hubs: Why are you always Rapunzel? What if ahpah wants to be Rapunzel.
Zoe: (thinking it over) No. You’re Flynn and I’m Rapunzel.
    Hubs: No. I’m Rapunzel!
Zoe: (totally ignoring him) Flynn, Flynn you have to climb up to the tower.
    Hubs: What’s mommy?

I WAS cleaning during this time but paused to hear my character assignment.

Zoe: Mommy? Mommy’s nobody and I’m Rapunzel and you’re Flynn.

YOUR WORDS ARE NOT LAW MISS BOSSY PANTS! AND I AM TOO SOMEBODY. I AM QUEEN OF I’MGONNAKICKYOURASSANDSHOWYOUWHOSBOSS.
I’m gonna be Rapunzel next time.

I’ve heard so many mothers say that things are easier with the 2nd kid. Um not. With Zoe I would take her anywhere and everywhere. With Kayden I’m like “What you want to meet up for lunch? Call me next year.” I’m like scared to take him out. With Zoe my mentality was like “If she cries, she cries. I can deal with it.” With Kayden it’s more like “Omigod he’s crying. Let’s go home.” I don’t know what it is. I think it’s the fear of losing my sanity while dealing with 2 in an open public place. I am telling you this kid took my ballzinis!

I also think Kayden’s teething. He’s about 5 months and a week old. His drooling is nonstop. He started sucking on his fingers. He would only get a few fingers in at a time and then get pissy at times when he can’t shove his entire fist in. Greedy! He’s also not sleeping well at night and just everything is irregular. His sleep, his feedings. He’s a punk. Haha but we love him. The hubs keeps bringing up the fact that Zoe a few weeks back showed her disloyalty to her brother when she said “I wanna trade Kayden for Keira (who is Lila’s sister).” Oh the shame. She claims that she doesn’t want to anymore and that she wants to keep him. We’ll see. You’ll have to prove it to us once more Benedict.

Oh and also heads up before I forget, Disney is closing the vault on Pinnochio, Fantasia, and Snow White on 04/30/11 so make sure to purchase them before then if you’re interested.

    {03.30.11} Skyping
Zoe loves to Skype. She’s always skyped with Hannah eemoh and Uncle Matthew out in Vietnam and she’d want to stay on with them forever. I’d put the laptop on the dining room chair so that she could walk around and show them what she’s doing. They’ll play hide and go seek with her and she’ll start cracking up like a hyena. She’ll make them cups of coffee and feed it to the monitor and I can hear slurping noises coming from the other side of the monitor. Or she’ll dance for them as they lay in bed getting ready to go to sleep. But move over H&M! She has a new Skype buddy named Lila. I think we turned Lila into a Skype addict. Today they have a Skype chat date at 6pm. Talk to you ladies then!

  • Built In Indoor Slides

Ohdeedoh just recently did a post on built in indoor slides. Omigod. I’m jealous. I’d use it every day.

    E.V.E.R.Y.
    D.A.Y.

I’m serious. I think I’d also use it as a laundry chute and situations like “Yo hun! Fatty coming down. Catch him.” And then I’d push Kayden down. Hahaha I so seriously would.

  • Our Weekend w/ Nancy Eemoh

    Zoe’s Daily Funny:
Yesterday we went to the gas station to get some gas. Before I left Zoe told me that she wanted to tell the gas attendant (I don’t know what to call them) hi. So I rolled down the window and she started yelling out “HI! HI! HI! Hey Hi! Hi!” He smiled and started waving back at her. As we drove away…

Zoe: Mommy he smiled at me because I’m cute?
    Me: I think so.
Zoe: I’m not cute. Mommy, I’m not cute.
Me: Ok. Then are you ugly?
Zoe: (thinking about this for a second) No. I’m cute.

    No really. Don’t hold back.

Oh boo. I left work a few hours early yesterday because Kayden had a fever and I had to pick him up. Poor thing. Good thing is that he was in good spirits. This morning we were going to send him to school since he didn’t have a temperature but then he chucked up his milk and his fever came back. Hang in there lil champ.

{04.03.01} The hubs was away so Nancy eemoh came over to play.

  • Recipe: Zuppa Toscana (Olive Garden)

My FAVORITE soup in the WHOLE WIDE WORLD is Olive Garden’s Zuppa Toscana. My sister found a recipe online and sent it to me. I finally made it this past weekend and devoured it.

Note: I threw in an extra potato and instead of bouillon cubes I had bouillon packets so I used 3 of those. It was SO FRIGGIN GOOD! Here is the
    site I got it from.

    {Makes: 6-8 servings}

    INGREDIENTS
    1 lb ground Italian sausage
    1½ tsp crushed red peppers
    1 large diced white onion
    4 Tbsp bacon pieces
    2 tsp garlic puree
    10 cups water
    5 cubes of chicken bouillon
    1 cup heavy cream
1 lb sliced Russet potatoes, or about 3 large potatoes
¼ of a bunch of kale
    IMG_1902

    DIRECTIONS
Sauté Italian sausage and crushed red pepper in a large pot. Drain excess fat, refrigerate while you prepare other ingredients.
In the same pan, sauté bacon, onions and garlic over low-medium heat for approximately 15 mins. or until the onions are soft.
Add chicken bouillon and water to the pot and heat until it starts to boil.
Add the sliced potatoes and cook until soft, about half an hour.
Add the heavy cream and just cook until thoroughly heated.
Stir in the sausage and the kale, let all heat through and serve.

  • Daddy’s Club

    Zoe’s Daily Funny
When we walk into Zoe’s school in the morning all the kids that get dropped off early are way in the back of the room playing either on the mat or with building blocks on the table and are being supervised by Zoe’s teacher, Mrs Marisol. Usually we head straight to her cubby first to put her things away. I’m usually walking ahead of Zoe and sometimes I hear her behind me announcing her presence. To her teacher. But it sounds like it’s to the world…

Zoe: MRS MARISOL! I’M HERE! I’M HERE! IT’S ZOE! HEY MARISOL I’M HERE! I’M HERE MRS MARISOL! HEY HEY MARISOL! I SAID I’M HERE!

    Good grief my ears.

So for the past 2 days, Zoe’s father has been trying to recruit the kids to come to “Daddy’s Club” and abandon ship at “Mommy’s Club”. Whatevs. Do I care? No. And yes once again he has resorted to talking about my “big butt” to get a giggle from Zoe to recruit her. That’s low you bastage. But whatever. I let it slide. I actually start to laugh when I hear them talking about their club. Cause it’s how he’s recruiting her that makes me laugh. By making fun of me aka your wife aka your babies’ mama. And surprisingly he was winning her over but then she started getting all wishy washy and one second she was in my club, the next second she was in his so he told her she couldn’t be in his club because she couldn’t make up her mind so she came over to me and I told her she couldn’t be in mine for the same reason and she started to bawl. Hahaha I know we’re mean so her dad took her back. I am memberless. It’s just me. And I RIKE IT A ROT.This is all going on while I’m doing the dishes. So then it’s bed time and we move upstairs. So I forgot what I was doing in the bathroom but I told him to hurry up and get her ready for bed because it was past 9 and they were fooling around. So then this is how he tries to win her over even more…

Hubs: (mocking me) Hurry up and get her ready for bed! Zoe mommy’s no fun.
    Zoe: Yeah!
Hubs: She’s always trying to ruin our fun. She’s such a party pooper.
    Zoe: Yeah! She always does.
Hubs: That’s why you’re in daddy’s club right? Cause daddy’s so much fun.
Zoe: Yeah and Kayden too and mommy’s all by herself.
Hubs: Yeah because she doesn’t know how to have fun.
    Zoe: Yeah she doesn’t.

Omigod. Eye roll. Snore. Eye roll.
    Then I heard him say….

Hubs: Zoe I love this! You’ve been oppressing daddy for 3 years! I waited so long!

So pathetic and sad and desperate hello.

Me:  You’re so sad. The levels of low you will go to win her over by talking crap about her mother.
    Hubs: Zoe mommy’s jealous!
Zoe: Yeah! Because she’s not in your club.
    Hubs: YEAH!

You see? I try not to laugh but I started laughing like a donkey.

Me: Hahahaha… Ok fine. Ultimate test. Ask her if you can sleep with her tonight.

Gotta say, he looked a little hesitant. Or should we say scared?

Hubs: Zoe can ahbah sleep with you tonight?
Zoe: No I wanna sleep with mommy.

Talk to the palm cause you ain’t da bomb.
I love my family. It’s never boring here at Casa Susan.

  • Product Review: Sesame Street Envirosax

I love these bags. I got the Big Bird one for Zoe to put her blanket in for school and after Kayden was born I got him the Cookie Monster one to carry his fitted sheet, blanket, and bumper for school. You can get these at Amazon for under $10 or you can get the complete set for around $40. Or if you live near me you can buy them at the store across from Baby Cotton at Riverside Mall.

  • Bouncers & Ballet

    Zoe’s Daily Funny:
So this month we’re planning on moving around A LOT of furniture. We’re trying to get Kayden set up with his own bedroom and since Zoe is older I feel like she should get a bigger room. SOOOO we’re moving our office space downstairs to the family/man room, my mil into the office space, Zoe into my mil’s room, and Kayden into Zoe’s room. Zoe claims that she’s going to sleep in her own room by herself (this I gotta see) after she moves into her new room. I told her we could paint it together and she’s really excited. In fact, so excited that she went into her grandmother’s room earlier this week (when she wasn’t there) and started to tell me how she wanted things once she was situated…

Zoe: I want my bed over here and my shelf over here.
Me: Oh really? What about your dresser?
Zoe: Over there. (pointing) and I want to bring my table up with my Cinderella castle and I want to put it right here.
    Me: Ok.
Zoe: Can we do it now?!
Me: Nooooo. We didn’t even paint the room!
Zoe: Can we paint it now?!
Me: Zoe. We didn’t even pick the paint color at the store yet.
Zoe: Can we go pick it now?
Me: ZOE! Stop. Your grandmother didn’t even move out of the room yet. You have to wait.
Zoe: Ok (looking disappointed for a split second which then turned into a hopeful smile). Can we move her out now?
    Me: ZOE!!!!

As you can see, she’s really super excited about the whole thing. I will most definitely post before and afters. So impatient that one. She is that person where if her friend were to get sick and get rushed to the hospital, she’ll yell out as they’re wheeling her away on a gurney “I GOT DIBS ON CRYSTAL’S CUBBY SPACE!!!!”

  • The Hubby’s 36th

    Zoe’ Daily Funny:
Zoe stayed home yesterday because she had a temperature, a runny nose, and a cough. Oh and she was doing diarrhea. We went out to eat for breakfast after we dropped Kayden off at daycare. She tried to flag down the waitress just to tell her “I’m really sick. There’s a bug inside my belly.” When the waitress brought our food this is what she told her. Afterwards we went to the borough clerk to get passport renewal forms. She told the clerk “I’m really sick” in this like woe is me type of way. Then she told her “I’m gonna show my mom and daddy how to do this cause they don’t know how to do it. They don’t know what month it is.” YOU don’t know what month it is missy. Then when it was time for bed in the evening she said to me in the dark in that same woe is me voice “Mommy I’m really sick. I have bugs in my belly.”

Talk about milkin it man. Except for a slight cough she’s totally fine. So dramatic!

  • Ballet

So we signed Zoe up for the Jazzy Bugs / Giggle Toes ballet and tap class at our local Little Gym. WAY overpriced I think but I guess just as long as she has fun. This is totally a Daddy and Zoe thing while I stay home with Kayden. This is their bonding thing. Haha… If you’re looking for ballet shoes or tap you can get them at Payless (I know, I was surprised too). And you can get leotards and ballet skirts at Old Navy in the sales rack.

:: 02.05.11 :: First Class (the hubs took these)
So according to the hubs, she pretty much does her own thing. Hahaha. Shocking. But he said she is having fun so I guess that’s what’s most important. She is the smallest in the class.

  • Zoe & Ellis’ 3rd Birthday Party!

Ellis just had his birthday on the 3rd and Zoe’s isn’t till the 19th so since I wanted to throw a small family birthday party we decided to do one for both of them. Have birthday you little monkeys. We LOVE you! I also said I wasn’t going to do that many diy’s but I ended up doing three: the paper lanterns, the pinwheels, and the cake. Thanks Huiwen for all your tips and advice on making the cake. Your beautiful race care was what inspired me to do this and I am NEVER doing this again. I shouldn’t really say never. I never know with me. I mean I still have Kayden. Oh and let me just warn you, I only posted one Kayden photo and he was sleeping. I know I have 2 kids okay! Back off.
