  • Playing Together

    Zoe’s Daily Funny:
Zoe’s dad came home a little bit intoxicated one night cause he was “forced” to go drinking with co-workers. She and I were in her bed and we were just finishing up our nightly game of Monster Pet Shop. He comes in the room reaking of alcohol but totally coherent and says…

Hubs: Zoe, come give daddy a good night kiss.

She gets up and stand on the edge of her bed and he picks her up to hug her.

    Hubs: Zoe?
    Zoe: Huh?
Hubs: When you go grow up don’t go into I.T. I don’t want you making your money in I.T. Look at daddy. I’m miserable.
Zoe: Awww. Dad I will give you  money in my piggy bank. I will give it to you.
Hubs: Oh yeah? (Zoe nods) How much?
Zoe: I will give you five dollars.
Me: Why are you giving daddy five dollars Zoe?
Zoe: So he can buy me something.

Gosh. I am really loving Kayden’s age right now. He’s so funny. I think we have another funny kid in the making! I shall mold him into being the great mama’s boy he shall become. Muhahaha! He and Zoe have been playing a lot together lately. Mostly just screaming and laughing at each other. I just watch them and laugh sometimes. Last night I was holding Kayden and we were running around the kitchen island taking turns with Zoe playing tag. There was a LOT of screaming involved. Finally after Kayden started coughing I said we should take a water break.

Zoe: Hey! How come Kayden gets to drink first? I’m older.
Me: I know but he was coughing a lot ok?
Zoe: Ok. *GASP* Oh no! (she spreads her feet apart a bit) I peed a little.
Me: What? A lot or a little?
Zoe: (Totally frozen on the spot) Okay, I think a lot. I’m sorry mom.
Me: Hahaha it’s ok. We were all excited so it’s ok. Go to the bathroom and pee the rest in the potty.

So she does this still walk to the bathroom while tiptoeing all awkward like cause her pants were wet. She strips off her bottom and gets on the toilet…

Zoe: Mom, I’m really sorry about that. Are you mad at me?
Me: No. It’s ok Zoe. It was just an accident. We were all running around and we were all excited. It’s ok.
    Zoe: I’m really sorry.
    Me: Zoe it’s ok.

    She’s so cute.

  • Keira’s Dohl

    Zoe’s Daily Funny:
Some time back in december the husband called to tell me that he was coming home late. Zoe and I were in the foyer and I gave Zoe some shoes to line up against the wall…

Me: Zoe, here. Go put daddy’s shoes over there with the rest of his shoes.

She walks over to me to grab a pair and heads over to where all daddy’s shoes are lined up.

Zoe: *exasperated sigh* Ugh! Why do the boys always mess up the shoes and all the girls have to clean it up all the time?
    Me: I know right?!
Zoe: (still lining up the shoes) I’m just tired of this! *another exasperated sigh*

Girlfriend! This is just the beginning. You don’t know.

    :: 01.08.11 :: Keira’s Dohl
I don’t really have any photos from Keira’s dohl. I just know that it was beautiful. I don’t bother bringing my camera when I know I have both kids. I never use it.
    Angie everything was amazing!

Susan and I had made this backdrop out of streamers for Keira’s party. I brought my darth vader mask (a widdle present to me) and was dying to take a photo with it on. The last photo is tainted yellow because SOMEONE had to put the polaroid in his mouth, KAYDEN!

Conversation with Angie a few days before the party…

Me: I can’t wait to set up the photobooth. Can I bring my darth vader mask to the party?!
    Angie: Um no.

  • Tiny Project In The Making

    Zoe’s Daily Funny:
Back in August when we took Kayden in for his first (and only) haircut, the woman behind the counter gave Zoe a lollipop. She’s is just licking away at that thing and I asked her…

Me: Zoe what flavor is that?

She takes it out of her mouth and inspects it and goes…

Zoe: Uhhhh Chicken cranberry (and then pops it back in her mouth)

She was serious. I could smell the orange scent from where I was standing you little liar.

OMG. I saw this and I died. Soooo cute.

    Zoe’s Daily Funny:
So I’ve noticed since last month that Kayden and Zoe have begun to get into some not-so-friendly-sibling-interactions.  I’m thinkin’ “Oh Lord…and it has begun…” Let me give you some examples…

Remember that photo I posted of Kayden lying on top of his sister with his head on her chest? So cute right? I thought so too. Except that last time Zoe let him do that I was like “Sooo cute. Zoe don’t move. Let me turn on my camera.” While I was turning it on I heard Zoe cry out in pain because Dracula turned his head so he was face down on her chest and bit her…TWICE. Bad Dracula!!! So now she’ll cuddle with him but right when she feels his head turn directly facing her body she’ll push him away.

Kayden LOVES Zoe’s booster. Anytime she’s sitting on it he’ll stand on the floor next to her and just whine. Whenever she’s done using it I’ll plop it on the floor and he’ll just crawl over and plop down it like he’s about to watch a movie or something.

If Zoe is playing with something Kayden will sometimes grab whatever it is she’s playing with and just so she can’t grab it back he’ll hold it up in the air away from her arms reach. She’ll usually cry and tell on him.

I bought up Zoe’s pink trike in the living room. He always bothers her and whines because he wants to play with it. So this past Monday she gets on it and he’s whining and she’s trying to get away from him and she says to her father…

Zoe: I was on it first. Sometimes I don’t want to share. I just want to ride it by myself. He’s giving me such a headache.

It’s not easy being an older sister.

    Kayden
He is starting to walk more. He’s sooo cute my little chubby. And I saw him crawling to the edge of my bed this morning and so I lunged for him but the right when he got to the edge her turned his body around to go feet first. GOOD BOY! I was so proud of him. He also has 2 more teeth coming in at the bottom. He’ll shake his head no or yes if he wants something. His uncle asked him in Korean “are you not going to kiss your uncle” to which Kayden shook his head a really fast no. He also likes to stand on his tippy toes and try to reach for stuff on top of the table just hoping to grab something with his fat sausages. I love both my babies so much. This morning I was mad cause Zoe was eating slow ONCE AGAIN and she goes…

    Zoe: Are you mad?
    Me: Now I am.
Zoe: Well, I still love you even though you’re mad at me.

She’s such a B! It’s so hard to be mad at times. Hahaha…

  • Jonah Turns 3!

    Zoe’s Daily Funny:
Zoe, Kayden, and I were taking a bath together Sunday night. Zoe goes….

Zoe: Who thinks Zoe’s fun to play with raise your hand?! (shooting her arm up in the air)
Me: Me!!!! (raising Kayden’s hand for him and using a little midget voice) Meeee!!!!
Zoe: Who has fun jumping up and down with Zoe?!
Me: Me!!! (raising Kayden’s hand for him and using the midget voice for him again) Meee!!!!
Me: Who thinks daddy’s a good singer sometimes? Meeee!
Zoe: (putting her arm down and whispering) not me.
Me: Zoe, he is sometimes. Not ALL the time but sometimes he’s ok.
    Zoe: No, not really.

    :: 12.03.11 :: Jonah’s 3rd Birthday at Turtleback Zoo
The weather was brisk baby but not cold enough to keep us home and miss out on Jonah turning 3. I thought his facepaint job was pretty awesome. After pizza and cake everyone split up and walked around the zoo. We stayed with Lila since Lila and Zoe were glued at the hip once again. But those two constantly compete. Let me give you an example, we were by the bobcat cage. He was pacing. Everytime he’d come close to the front of the cage you can hear those two…

    Zoe: He’s coming to me.
Lila: No he’s coming to me.
Zoe: Nooo he’s coming to me.
Lila: Nooo he’s coming to me.

Angie and I were standing nearby…

Me: Oh Angie. Fast foward 14 years later. I can hear it now…. He’s looking at me. No he’s looking at me.
Angie: No he’s going to call me. No he’s going to call me. No he’s going to call me.

A few minutes later we were walking to check out some other animals and we could hear them at it AGAIN…

    Lila: No I’m taller.
Zoe: No I’m taller than you.
Lila: No I’m taller than you.
    Zoe: No I’m taller.

No. Shut up. No you shut up. No really please shut up.

We were pretty much done checking out all the animals and we ran into Nancy and Jeenie and just had all the girls have fun together while we froze our butts off. The last thing we all checked out before heading home was the reptile house. I swear it was like FEEDING TIME at the zoo when we were there. The hawk had something bloody in his talons, a wolf was gnawing on some leg (it looked like a deer leg). The boa constrictor had 2 hind bunny feet sticking out his mouth. It was awesome. Oh and Angie told me this the next day but there was a lady holding a snake around her arm. Zoe and Lila were just looking up at her asking a bunch of questions. Yong said Zoe asked or said something to her but he didn’t hear what she had said but that the woman seemed surprised and said “That’s right, some snakes are endangered. That’s a big word for a little girl.” I didn’t know she knew that word either. hahaha I was suprised too. I’m thinking Diego?

    Daily Funny:
Last week I was giving Zoe a bath and I asked her to stand up and face me so I could wash her front and chest area. She started covering up her chest and said….

    Zoe: Don’t touch my jiji’s. They’re in a museum.

Hahaha. Oh how your father wished that were true.

  • Halloween

    Zoe’s Daily Funny:
Every night I change Kayden, and shut off the lights, and give his bottle while he lies on my bed. Then after he’s done I’ll move him to his crib. During this time the hubs always helps Zoe with her pj’s, and then brushes her teeth, helps her wash up, and then make her go pee one last time. Then he’ll let her play or they’ll play with ipad together while they wait for me to put her down. A few weeks ago after both of our nightly routines were done, I had just gotten Kayden down and was heading into Zoe’s room. As I was going in the hubs was on his way out and I hear him say….

C: Well I didn’t want to sleep with you anyways. I’m gonna go sleep with Kayden!
Me: He’s already sleeping. What happened?
C: I asked her if I could sleep with her tonight and she said (mocking her voice) “You can’t sleep with me because you don’t have long hair.”

    But I do. Lucky me.

So let me just say that the husband and I have watched Rio 1,672 times in the past week and a half. Actually I saw it a lot more than he did since I get home before he does. Once again, lucky me. Zoe saw this at the theater when it came out but the husband got the dvd on sale during black Friday. We’ve watched it this many times because SOMEONE is hooked on the movie. It’s not Zoe. It’s the fat one. He’s obsessed. He L O V E S this movie. Sometimes we’ll get home and he’ll just point to the tv and go “uh uh uh!’’ which in Kayden talk means “Let’s go lady! You know the drill!” The other day he was in his high chair and I was trying to feed him and he wasn’t having it. He started to whine. So I picked him up. Then he started whining again. So I put him on the floor. Then he started whining some more. Like nothing I was doing was making him happy. So I put in the damn movie, put him in his high chair again, and he quietly ate as he watched the movie. Annoying. However I am glad that it holds his attention long enough for me to feed him.

So Zoe was SUPPOSED to be Jasmine and to which we made Kayden her Abu. 5 minutes before heading out she said she wanted to be Snow White BECAUSE “Jasmine is not a real princess because she wears pants.” Ok whatever Zoe. Now Kayden was just a plain monkey. Her father even scolded/threatened her “Zoe, Daddy spent $40 on your costume for nothing. That’s it. I’m going to take it all back. The shoes, the costume, and the tiara.” She goes “Okay.” Mr I’m-Putting-My-Foot-Down-But-I’m-Really-Whipped-By-My-3-Yr-Old didn’t didn’t know she was going to call his bluff so he gives me a quick sideway glance as I’m waiting totally amused to see his next move and says “Ok I’ll let you keep it this one time but next time no more!” Wow. Way to go Scary Man!

She had an awesome time trick-or-treating. We did Broad Ave just cause it was safer. Safer going to a stranger’s store than a stranger’s home if that makes any sense. Kayden was really good in the stroller too because he was just busy staring at everyone in costume. This was her first time trick-or-treating but we are most definitely going to do it again next year.

  • Jijis

    Zoe’s Daily Funny:
Last night after bathing both of the kids, Zoe had on her pj’s and happened to find my black bra on the floor. So she slips it on over her jammies and goes “LOOK AT ME! LOOK AT ME! Look at my bra Mommy”. She even mentioned to me later that Ariel’s bra is prettier than mine because hers is purple. Like I care. Coughcough-ariel’s-a-big-skank-cougcough. So this morning after Zoe had finished eating her breakfast she shoved two of her hide and squeak eggs up her shirt and said “Hey mom! Look at my jijis!”  I ignored her little pointy 2 inch protrusions under her shirt and told her to hurry up and run to the bathroom to brush her teeth. The whole time I was getting her bib, brush, cup, and toothpaste ready all I hear is….

Zoe: Ugh my jijis keep falling.
Zoe: I’m touching my jijis because they keep falling down.
Zoe: Mommy listen, my jijis squeak.
Zoe: Why won’t my jijis stay still. Maybe it’s because I don’t have a bra on.

Then after she finished brushing I was washing her face and as I was patting it dry she goes…

Zoe: Hurry it up mom! My jijis are falling down!

    OMIGOD ENOUGH WITH THE JIJIS!

    Zoe’s Daily Funny:
Zoe still loves to declare her love to me. It’s really sweet cause she’ll tell me at the most random times that she loves me. A few weeks ago…

    Zoe: Mommy I love you.
Me: I love you too Zoe.
Zoe: You know that I love you?
    Me: Yes always.
Zoe: And am I your hero?
    Me: Yes. Always.
Zoe: Because I protect you from daddy when he’s being mean to you?
    Me: Yes.
Zoe: Don’t worry. I’ll always protect you.

Now when Daddy’s being “mean to me” that’s when he says things to me like when I’m being a smart ass and his retort is “get out of MY house” or when he tells me I’m a bad singer. Things of that nature. She is my little warrior. Sometimes when the husband is minding his old business and singing a song you hear her say from across the room “whoever thinks daddy’s a bad singer raise your hand.” All hands go up. We girls stick together. Girl power.

Ok. I may lose more readers after this but I will admit here on my precious blog that I have hopped on the Justin Bieber train. HOLLA! Did someone just call me a loser? I’m sorry I can’t hear you. I have to say I didn’t really care for him much but after watching part of the Never Say Never video you end up liking the kid. I was watching it in bed while the hubs snored away next to me and I was watching all the widdle girls crying their eyes out while singing along to his music and I was laughing out loud. Hahaha…. Brings me back to the days of NKOTB. God I loved them…not to the point where I cried though. I don’t get that. You’re so consumed by emotion just by watching your favorite singer perform and you just bawl your eyes out? Omigod if Zoe got like that I’d laugh in her face. Hahaha…. I downloaded his Christmas song, Mistletoe the very next day. I’m a winner. Please don’t go girl! You would ruin my whole world.Tell me you’ll stay! Never ever go away. Ok so for you young bucks that are like “huh? who?” They were the Beatles of our time. Here, wiki them.

I was thinking about things to get for the kids for Christmas. You know she wants an air hockey table? I was GOING to buy Zoe the Leap Pad but I hear the apps are expensive and knowing Zoe she’ll want every friggin app. So the hubs, my brave black friday fightin’ warrior of a man, headed out to Walmart while I put the kids down on Thanksgiving evening to find his kids some decent gifts come Christmas morning under the tree. He was number 143 out of 200 waiting in line for the awesome X-Box/Kinect deal. Score! I wanted to get Kayden this Lego Duplo set that Haekyung told me about but the hubs said by the time he got the Xbox the store was packed and he wanted out. So I got that online for him this week. Woohoo! The hubs told me that next year we need to be a 2 man team. One person waits in line in the electronics dept while the other person gets all the other stuff. I’m in.

I was also thinking about getting Zoe a doll this Christmas. One that she could relate to with long black hair. Like the Audrey doll at PBK. It’s soft and plush and she can sleep with it. However she has a lot of dolls and doesn’t play with any of them. They all pale in comparison next to Pink. So for Zoe, dolls are a waste of money. They just sit on her shelf, collecting dust, while gazing at her longing for her to just touch them, even if it’s just to throw them on the floor. Poor things. The day that she stops playing with Pink is a day that I don’t look foward to. It’s like one more thing in her little innocent adolescent world that she’s letting go because she’ll want to date, and go to the prom, and go to college, and get married. Omigod I cry!

    I know.
    She’s only 3.
    But she’s almost 4.
But that’s still too close to 18, and 21, and 30.  *sniff*

She really wants the Rapunzel doll (the Disney Animators’ collection) and the unicorn Stompeez that she saw on an infomercial.

I want to get Kayden something special just because he is getting shafted in the photo department, and because he is the baby and my little cutie pie, and because he may have to do a do-over in the circumcision department which we will save for another post. Zoe’s so easy to shop for. What do you get a 1 year old boy?

    School Photos
I got Zoe’s school photo back. And if the older kid had a younger sibling in the baby room they let you take a photo together. I L O V E the photo of them together!
